The Soviet Union is dead, extinct. We are talking about Russia.

Soviet Union was the agressor who wanted to occupy Afghanistan and some Pakistanis out of their own free will chose to fight the Soviets in Afghanistan.

Who gives Soviet Union, or any country, the right to occupy an independent sovereign nation.


Pakistan and Russia's relations have improved drastically in the past decade.

RUSSIA was and is both Father and Son of the Soviet Union!!!
And "some" Pakistanis out of their free will fought against the Soviets/Russians with arms, training and guidance given by "some" Pakistani Army personnel out of their free will.

And "some" Pakistani pilots of the PAF out of their free will; shot down aircraft piloted by Soviet/Russian pilots.

So we must believe that Soviets were from MARS while Russians are from EARTH!

U.S. never helped Pakistan in any battles with india. Nixon promised Pakistan a naval fleet in 1971 war, but our Pakistani military were so naive to trust U.S. and were waiting for the fleet that never came. Pakistan has learned its lesson not to trust U.S. government/army/CIA now.

Yes maybe Russia is a more reliable friend to India than U.S. is to Pakistan, but Pakistan has no beef with Russia. India is the only country on earth Pakistan has disputes with, and the dispute is over Kashmir.

So Siachen, Sir Creek and river water is off the table

Can any senior members give some information about the NATO procurement and supply route. i Have known the supply is basically food, rations, weapons and fuel.

Are these shipped right from US then all the way through Atlantic then to Suez canal and then to Pakistan port and convoy ride to Afghan or is some products like fuel from middle east and other from NATO nations in Europe and through same route?

Pakistanis dont wish Russia any harm. Russia today is not trying to conquer Muslim land thats why most Pakistanis today dont have a negative impression on Russia as we did 30 years ago when they wanted to conquer the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan.

Afghanistan has not accepted Durand line as a border since 1949. The same reason why Musharaf's attempts to build a fence on Pak-Af border failed

It doesnt matter because the entire international community and the United Nations accepts the Durrand Line as International Borders, its not like Kashmir that has only a Line of Control and not International Borders.

Pakistan and Afghanistan never went to war against each other and we never will.

The Afghan government has very little say on what happens even in its own country, forget about international issues.
