There is going to be strong backlash from Pakistani Military.

Last time they blocked NATO supply line, and NATO troops were put on 1/3rd ration within a week. Its about to hit the fan now.

Hope peace prevails.

There'll be more pressure from the Pakistani public to take action against NATO. There is already anti-american, anti-nato sentiments everywhere in Pakistan. Army will have to do something.

I think Pakistan needs to send strong signal for this attack, every times NATO comes launch its friendly fire practice & than apologize but soilder's life won't come back & his family will never ever get their loved one any how.

We can expect a strong backlash from Kayani on this, & it will be very well deserved.

It is all talks about accused, nothing else. One NATO helicopter must shot down, that's what we seek so far.

Pakistani officials have accused Nato helicopters of firing on a military checkpoint near Pakistan's Afghan border, killing up to eight soldiers.

A military spokesman said the attack had taken place in the Pakistani tribal region of Mohmand.

Nato said it was aware of "an incident" near the border and that it was investigating.

The Pakistani military said it was an "unprovoked and indiscriminate" attack.

"Casualties have been reported and details are awaited," a military spokesman said.

The alleged attack took place at the Salala checkpost, about 1.5 miles (2.5 km) from the Afghan border, Reuters reports, at around 02:00 local time (21:00 GMT).

"The firing left seven soldiers and one major dead," an unnamed local intelligence official told Agence France Presse.

Pakistani troops are involved in fighting the Taliban in the crucial border region area. Some 5,000 militants have been resisting attempts by the security forces to clear them from southern and south-eastern parts of the district.

The US has been targeting militants in Pakistan's tribal areas near the Afghan border for several months.

Last year, US helicopters accidentally killed two Pakistani soldiers near the border, prompting Pakistan to temporarily close the border to supplies shipped through the country to Nato troops in Afghanistan.

In October, Pakistan's army chief Ashfaq Kayani warned the US against taking unilateral action in nearby North Waziristan.

He said that the US should focus on stabilising Afghanistan instead of pushing Pakistan to attack militant groups in the crucial border region.

Washington has for many years urged Islamabad to deal with militants in the area.

You dont pay back for 12 dead and plus wounded via a nasty email, phone call or border closures.
Should we change the name of this forum to Pakistan Defenceless Forum so everyone can stop wasting their time?

I still believe it was a case of friendly fire.

Both NATO and PA need to work out their differences and improve the inter-operability so that unfortunate incidents like these are avoided in the future.

Sound impressive Ahmadenijad.

Brother, honestly I tell you. Though I support Imran Khan, it is not going to make differences if Imran Khan elect. The difference is Ahmadenijad lived simple in Iran never goes to UK/US that make him strong guts while Imran Khan enjoyed some of old live in UK luxury.

I fear Imran Khan might be fallen same line. [/B]

Imran Khan sleeping in Dharna on stage under the sky. This Dharna stopped NATO supply lines.

Ahmadenijad sleeping on ground. He truly cares about his people and his country, not his personal wealth.

Yes, we are a banana public, let's give up our nukes, disband our Army, our govt, & the country.

Last time 2 soldiers were killed by the NATO Forces, the supply lines were closed for sometime. Let's hope for a more stringent reaction from the Army this time. How can I criticize the Army when they haven't even had enough time to respond or react to this?

I seriously doubt that there will be a military backlash from Pakistan..though there can be strategic like stopping supplies etc.but a militant backlash..i doubt.

.
yar killing 12 soldiers 2.5 miles inside pakistani territory while they were sat in.a military post cannot be friendly fire...more of a cold blooded murder by a nato crew who thinks that pakistanis are insrcts and have no worth...and they know that nothing will happen to them.
