NATO simply wants to end up on the side of the winners, e.g. Turkey/Tripoli/Sarraj.

"In an interview with Italian daily La Repubblica on Thursday, Stoltenberg noted that NATO has 30 partners, which on many issues have different positions, but added that Turkey remains an important ally."

Stoltenberg is simply pointing out here that Turkey is more important to NATO than France and Greece combined.

Not gonna happen. NATO as an organization has no part in this. They have nothing to lose, even if they end up on the losing side.

Besides, Turkey can extract those concessions anyway, if NATO sides with Turkey, as Turkey will have proven that it's perfectly capable of protecting its interests as a growing power.
