Two points :
1. It is a good thing that Pakistan cleared it's own house, at least for it's own good if not for anybody else, but I will not get my hopes high. I will give you my reasons.
The core idea that drives these people still remains intact, their recruitment ground still remains the same, their motivating factors have not changed. When Osama was finally killed and many al-Qaeda terrorists captured or killed, everyone thought this chapter closed. Who could have thought of ISIS at that time ? They are cut out of pretty much the same cloth, ISIS and Taliban. You cannot kill them all. They have to be stabilized and brought back to civilization. Look around, their ideology has got certain degree of moral support even from the educated sections of the society.
NATO will only achieve in adding fuel to the fire. They will go in, hurl some bombs, get some people killed, create a bigger mess and then withdraw. And then, the World will wait for the next terrorist attack to happen.

2. So far as the relation with India is concerned, you have elements within your society who have specifically targeted India and continue to do so. They still roam scot-free. Reasons are not hard to comprehend, if we take an account of some of the retd. Pakistani army officers and diplomats whistle blowers. They were hand-in-gloves with these terrorists and have a history of using them as a instrument of state policy. Until and unless they are neutralized, there cannot be any respite.

Defence minister Manohar Parrikar on Thursday hinted at a covert response to fight terrorism and said any country planning and plotting against India would be dealt with "pro-actively".

"We have to neutralise terrorists through terrorists only. Why can't we do it? We should do it. Why does my soldier have to do it?... kaante se kaanta nikalta hai (you remove a thorn with the help of a thorn)," Parrikar said at an event here, adding that terrorists in Jammu and Kashmir were being paid monthly salaries ranging from Rs 10,000-Rs 15,000.

The minister said the NDA government had succeeded in reducing the porosity of international borders in the last one year and had created a robust intelligence network to safeguard the country's security interests.

Reacting to a CAG report on the army facing a massive shortage of ammunition with reserves that would barely last 20 days of intense fighting, Parrikar said the report was based on the situation that existed during 2008-2013. The scenario has improved, he said.

"The ordnance factories have increased their output by 18%, while the items in the "critical list" mentioned by the CAG have come down from 125 to 66," the minister said.

On military modernisation, Parrikar said there were a staggering 339 proposals for acquisition with a combined value of Rs 524,000 crore and he had asked the armed forces to prioritise them. "We are pursuing 85-86 important projects with a value of Rs 100,000 crore," he said.

On last year's unsolved Pune Su-30 crash, Parrikar said all mishaps could not be solved just like all crimes could not be solved.
