First of all you know Jericho 2 and above versions are IRBMs with mass above 23 tonnes .All Jericho 1s are out of service probably dismantled

Why would Israel launch an IRBM towards Syria when Syria is just around the corner , it is like India launching Agni 3 4000 kms range at Pakistan from Indian state of Rajasthan hilarious.

Hypothetically even there is no interceptor in Syrian arsenal that can knock down a 23 tonne+ Jericho traveling at Mach 14 in its re entry phase or a RADAR that can track a Ballistic Missile in all its phases.
Don't kid yourself.

Jericho-1 out of service since 1990 . Israel probably has dismantled it , taken out its guidance system , it's payload dismantled , its heat shield compromised and it's rocket motor probably dismantled too.

Prove syria has interception capability of a Balllistic missile .
What kind of interceptor they have ??
What kind of tracking radars they have ??
What phase does it intercept boost phase , mid course phase or terminal phase ??
Only US has Boost and mid course phase intercept capability other countries are developing it and you are telling me syria has such capability.

Bro it will destroy 30 to 40 % of their nuclear warheads in air in an all out exchange , so in effect reducing their nuclear weapons effectiveness.
Eg
If India and Pakistan launch 100 warheads each towards each other , all 100 Indian warheads will reach Pakistan while 50 to 70 warheads of Pakistan will reach India rest intercepted .

I highly doubt it . Israel has lauched Standoff weapons on Syria which has accuracy of 3 m which are more suited to precision strikes rather than some 1960s Jericho 1 dismantled in 1990 with CEP of 50 Mts . So use logic.
It is possible Syria intercepted a Standoff weapon released by IAF.

I think its about the developing BMD situation in the region rather than developing a Pakistani BMD. To quote the former head of SPD whom I discussed the same topic with, rejected the idea of BMD in South Asia, termed it a waste of time. His opinion was that Pakistan should invest its resources in upgrading the survivability of our nuclear forces, reduction of reaction time, diversity of strike options and nuclear triad. He also rejected the idea of ICBM, stating that its a waste of money because we can build a global strike option if required in a very limited period. He's also in favour of keeping some push to lunch systems to keep tabs on Indian ambitions.
