23rd meeting of NCA was held under the chairmanship of PM Abbasi, according to ISPR
RAWALPINDI (Dunya News) – Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi chaired the 23rd meeting of the National Command Authority (NCA) where he was briefed regarding strategic environment and regional security matters.

According to the ISPR press release, the NCA meeting was attended by the Federal Minister for Defence Khurram Dastgir, Interior Minister Ahsan Iqbal, Chief of Army Staff General Qamar Javed Bajwa, Chief of Naval Staff Admiral Zafar Mahmood Abbasi, Chief of Air Staff Air Chief Marshal Sohail Aman and other senior officials.

The officials were briefed on the strategic environment and regional security environment. They were informed about the concern certain destabilizing actions in Pakistan’s neighborhood, which undermine the objective of maintaining strategic stability in South Asia. These include the massive arms build-up in the conventional domain, nuclearisation of the Indian Ocean Region and plans for the development of BMD.

Emphasis on peaceful uses of nuclear technology
The senior leadership was briefed regarding peaceful uses of nuclear technology for future prospects to meet the growing energy needs, underlining the projects like National Space Programme 2047 and Nuclear Power Programme. Both the projects were endorsed and the members acknowledged significance of national socio-economic prosperity and growth for the future.

The NCA reiterated Pakistan’s interest in expanding international cooperation in these areas and play a positive role towards achieving the Sustainable Development Goals as a provider of expertise and services in peaceful nuclear application.

NCA noted the potential of space programme in all most all civilian sectors, ensuring resource generation and optimization. The role of nuclear applications in the fields of health, agriculture, medicine and industry was appreciated.

Responsible nuclear state
The NCA took a detailed review of the Nuclear Security Regime and expressed full confidence in command and control systems and security measures in-place to ensure comprehensive stewardship and security of strategic assets and materials. It reaffirmed that, as a responsible nuclear state, Pakistan will continue to contribute meaningfully towards the global efforts to improve nuclear security and nuclear non-proliferation measures.

The high standards of training and operational readiness of the strategic forces to meet all kinds of threats were hailed.

It was that Pakistan wanted peaceful co-existence in the region and will endeavor to work with its neighbors to ensure strategic stability in South Asia.

Meanwhile, it is worth mentioning that the recent security strategy paper issued by Trump administration called out both India and Pakistan and warned them in view of the nuclear weapons as "the threat is worse because (both) are two nuclear-armed states whose tense relations threaten to spiral into conflict".

Important thing to note here is Pakistan going to develop BMD. This is a great development.

Another news article on the same news talked about FSD (full spectrum deterrence) policy to be continued That means Pakistan is going for ICBM or SLBM

Pakistan is responsible nuclear state: NCA

Defense budget is also going to increase.

this is about the challenges & new developments in the region ..... nothing like Pakistan will develop BMD .... two different things

.
I thought we already had ballistic missiles like ghauri, shaheen etc etc

.
Ye BMD kya hai???
Ballistic Missile defense.
Naveed is right. You've misinterpreted the article.

I have agreed to that but the second article on FSD means that ICBM or SLBM ?

There is another article on the same news referring to increase in defense budget increase.

After getting ICBMs can we target USA and Israhell as well????

India is not planing to develop BMD. India has developed it. It says plan to develop BMD, I can be wrong but that is what it is saying.

No, India has not deployed it . India has developed 4 different types of interceptors and various radars for it ,and more interceptors are being developed and large solid state phased array radars are going to be built , space based infrared satellites will also be built for early warning so they are still in development phase It will take over 13 years and over 50 billion dollars to deploy over all India.

Only one country has deployed BMD USA . Next Russia, Israel , India and China are developing it to some extent . Though Israel is pretty advanced in it.
It is very tough to make BMD , it is much easier to make nuclear weapons.

Stop Joking here . LoLzz .
First of all you know Jericho 2 and above versions are IRBMs with mass above 23 tonnes .All Jericho 1s are out of service probably dismantled

Why would Israel launch an IRBM towards Syria when Syria is just around the corner , it is like India launching Agni 3 4000 kms range at Pakistan from Indian state of Rajasthan hilarious.

Hypothetically speaking there is no interceptor in Syrian arsenal that can knock down a 23 tonne+ Jericho traveling at Mach 14 in its re entry phase or a RADAR that can track a Ballistic Missile in all its phases.
Don't kid yourself.
