Nation to mark Kashmir Solidarity Day with traditional zeal

Go to Google.com, type Kashmir Solidarity Day & get the answer.

Actually, it's not given clearly as to why Feb 5th was chosen. I needed to know if there existed any significance behind using this date.

Kashmir Day was first observed in 1990 on call of Nawaz Sharif, who was the opposition leader and chief minister of Punjab at the time. Sharif appealed for a nationwide strike to protest against the Indian occupation of Kashmir and called for people to pray for the Kashmiri freedom movement’s success. The Pakistan People’s Party then declared February 5 as a public holiday and Kashmir Day has since been observed every year. :girl_wacko:

the first news that reported it was The Hindu -- one notch above Pakistan's The Nation

The reason it's showing above the Pakistan's 'The Nation' is 'cause of Meta Tags. :suicide2:

it's a regularly held event so it doesnt make difference on which media reports what about it...

happy solidarity day to all kashmiris
@Armstrong do you celebrate it in any way.. like cut a cake with India map on it? :azn:

it is held to show solidarity with the people of Kashmir, especially those who have faced persecution and draconian measures

@Armstrong is ethnic kashmiri .. wanted to know how he spent the day (traditional zeal?)
cutting a cake with Indian map on it, is a symbolic protest. o_O

. .
So is Pakistan gonna do about it or just make noises like a rondoo as usual?

Maybe a nuclear war to show its seriousness about it....
