Of course , you are in the armed forces . But there's a reward too .

Put your head in the swimming pool ? Is that allowed ? We know that as a torture method :what:

How the hell did he then ? Secret orders from Ankara ? :D

lol, technically it's not but that's the nature of an Officer responsible for the training of cadets lol. They do it because they want men that is though, secular, no religion and no thinking. Anyway I'm thankful for my Commanding Officers that turned me into a man with a different life perspective :)

They ban me cuz they jealous and haters.
@Awesome professed his love for me. He said he thinks about me when he reads poetry. I was looking for a no homo, that never was never posted.

Then @nuclearpak said something along the lines of 'mujay to adaat si par gaye hain'.

I mean how am I supposed to react? LoL.

Dekhlo phir bhi baar baar infraction khatay ho... That's how bad you are! :D doob maro.

@Jazzbot, you are a very very lucky guy to have him amongst you.I love the senior fellows of my country. They have to pay a lot to survive to this extent.Survival up till this age isn't an easy job especially in Pakistan.

I pray for his uneventful and quick recovery. And i wish him a long long & healthy time among his grandchildren and grand-grand children.

======
If you guyz don't mind, i'll like to share my rather recent experiences with some of the senior fellows that have crossed the century mark.

I met one of them in A.F.I.C., he was WW-2 veteran;also took part in the 65 war.Her daughter was full colonel.I was a part of the team of doctors taking care of his health issues. And developed a good repute with him, while taking his history and managing him.
I still remember he was quite a jolly fellow and i still remember him mentioning it to me, that the "new generation and the youngster hardly consider us of any value (In short he was not that happy from the inside)....but loved talking to you....."

At that time i took it as a nice compliment. And kept in touch with him. After couple of days when he was getting discharged. He asked about me.I was on a short leave and was about to reach back home for some stuff.

When i received some text messages and a bunch of calls from different contacts.A senior colleague told me that "the man" won't go with out meeting you.He mentioned,"the patient just said to his attendants that i don't trust you guys and i want to meet him and i want to meet him now before we leave."

He added that, "we have already told them that you are not available. And i'm just calling you to tell you that...."

I went back, and there he was in his room all ready to go.He gifted me the Holy Quran and a pen.
I called him twice after that, he was back in Multan and in high spirits.

The other fellow i met(lucky me) when i was in FFH.He also had participated in WW-2.....and was admitted for a some surgical correction. He also had some hearing difficulties. So, the ENT guyz also took care of him along with us.He was 103 years old.And had minor issues.

So, @Jazzbot, you have an experienced human being with you who have seen it all.I wouldn't have desired any thing better than that. But unluckily both of my Paternal and Maternal grandparents have left this world.

I felt so nice after reading your post, since I've also practiced similar things with my grandpa. These people from 20th century who lived 100+ years are most loveliest people you could find in this world today and its a privileged to be with any such person. I feel myself lucky because I've spent a lot of time with him. I've spent last 4 full years with him and I call him my window to previous century and he always loved whenever I call him that. :D My grandpa was in All India Railways in technical staff which was rare at that time, so he used to travel a lot to different parts of sub continent, so he has lots of tales about different places to tell us. He had the privilege to meet Mr. Jinnah twice and Allama Iqbal once, my grandpa was there at Minto Park at 23rd March 1940, he was part of Lahore Resolution.. :)

Let me just tell you one interesting thing about him which always surprises me. I just never saw him eating more than one bread during breakfast, lunch or dinner. No matter if he's ill, no matter if he's at any wedding party etc (people usually eat more at weddings). He just always ate only one bread and thus he had no suger / blood pressure issues, no heart diseases, no eye sight problems, no joints pain problems. His memory is still very sharp, even yesterday in hospital he was recognizing our voices and was calling us by our names. These guys are legends, even his sons are no way near to him in fitness and he've seen his 4 generations.

there is a very very high pressure on you. Plus they give you an M4 on your hands and put you on a boat. If you fail to do what you were orded to, a LT shouts at you with a very high tone and put your head into swimming pool for a while at the age of 18. Well they don't allow foreigners to the Academy but I know that @Hyperion served as a 3rd Lieutenant in the Turkish Army. You can ask him :)
admiral its shocking to hear this from you. its Armed forces we are talking about, what you expect from training? they should serve you with Turkish Delicacies while on the boat?
