I thought your grandpa must have told you.

Nah man, I'm a Kashmiri by ethnicity but a Punjabi by culture & linguistics so I don't really know our ancestral tongue (Koshur) or the unique cultural or culinary practices of Kashmir & Kashmiris. All I know is that my Grandpa's Dad was from a village near Gulmarg called Khreu & as a cloth merchant he used to move between Murree & Kabul & my Grandpa was born in Murree in 1913 ! After him the rest of us grew up in Punjab as Punjabis & we consider ourselves as such.

Dude, I never said that you're a liar or any of the others who think they are Syeds I just don't buy into the fact that they maybe ! They may think they are but I don't think that most Syeds are Syeds.

You are right that a lot of people just added Syed to their name for respect but the ones who really know they are Syed should be able to prove it one way or another if not they are probably just fake. Like I mentioned earlier when partition happened a lot of the Muhajirs who came from India adopted Syed as a surname. They did it because they wanted to severe all links with India and so tried to rewrite their ancestry as to not look like they were ever Hindu.

Ok bhaio or unki behno.

Im officially OFF for now good bye n Crazy Nightmares.

Nite bro. :drag:

Achaa yaar maan bhi leiteii hain ke tuuu Syed haii - Does that change anything ? Anything at all ? I don't really care about castes, races & the sort ! They're immaterial.

Everyone who goes to Punjab assimilates and becomes a Punjabi. :coffee: If only the same could have happened in Sindh it would have solved a lot of Pakistan's problems. :undecided:
