New Delhi: After raising questions on whether “unarmed soldiers” had to fight the Chinese Army and that the Prime Minister had surrendered Indian territory to the Chinese aggression, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi fired a fresh salvo at the PM calling him “Surender Modi”.

This comes after the Centre issued a clarification over PM Narendra Modi’s earlier statement during the all-party meeting where he had said that the Chinese troops did not intrude into the Indian territory.

Yesterday, Rahul Gandhi questioned on Twitter why and where were the Indian soldiers killed if the land, where the “violent face-off” happened, was Chinese territory alleging that PM Modi has “surrendered to the Chinese aggression”.

“PM has surrendered Indian territory to Chinese aggression. If the land was Chinese: 1. Why were our soldiers killed? 2. Where were they killed?,” he had tweeted.


Lashing out at Gandhi, Home Minister Amit Shah asked him to “rise above petty politics” and stand in solidarity with the national interest.

Shah quote tweeted a video of a jawan’s father, who asked Rahul Gandhi “not to indulge in politics” over the standoff with China.

“A brave armyman’s father speaks and he has a very clear message for Mr Rahul Gandhi. At a time when the entire nation is united, Mr Rahul Gandhi should also rise above petty politics and stand in solidarity with the national interest,” Shah tweeted.

“Rahul Gandhi, don't indulge in politics on this... my son fought in the army and will continue fighting in the army,” the injured jawan’s father can be heard saying in the video.

Later, Congress leader Randeep Singh Surjewala said that the statement from the PMO office on the Galwan Valley faceoff is “a lame attempt to obfuscate the truth”.

He further urged the Prime Minister to follow ‘Raj Dharma’ and rise to the challenge of protecting ‘National Security’ and ‘Territorial Integrity’.






Responding to Gandhi's tweet, BJP MP Meenakshi Lekhi said Twitter banned many Chinese propaganda handles but missed out on the biggest Chinese propaganda handle of all.

This is interesting. I would argue that Narendra Modi is actually the guy who is actually working wonders for PRC's reputation! Modi has quietly gifted land to China, hasn't complained about his 20 dead soldiers, and even said the skirmish was India's fault for crossing into Chinese territory. China has seriously gone up in global credibility stakes as a nation not to be messed with - all thanks to Modi.

We should pray that Modi / BJP government remains in India.

Current parliament has given its neighbors an opportunity in a platter that no other government in India has ever offered. Indian soft power due to its religious extremism is diminishing. Mob lynching, rapes, curfews, resurfacing of disputes with almost all the neighbors that include two nuclear armed states, racism and targeting minorities etc are some of the highlights of current BJP government. Congress wouldn't have changed the constitution and the status quo on Kashmir would have continued for another 100 years. Congress would have easily managed Nepal, Bangladesh, Pakistan and China diplomatically and Internal divisions wouldn't have surfaced.

We might not have known abhinundan ever.. The term "tea is fantastic" wouldn't have been invented.

People wouldn't see it like that. You are a Pakistani so ofcourse you would think it to be true. But as a Indian, people see it as playing politics when the country's sovereignty at risk. He should have just said that as a Indian party we support our armed forces and will support any action to protect Indian sovereignty. Instead in his haste to attack/belittle Modi, he is encouraging a war which India can ill afford. It is not Pakistan this time. I am pretty sure if we had this Pappu as PM, we would have only listened to his incoherent rambling rather than about any action at border.
