Bharatiya Janata Party's prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi who declared for the first time Jashodaben as his wife recently when he filed the nomination papers from Vadodara, it seems, has more troubles to face on the matrimonial front.

While there were rumours that Modi's wife had left for Char Dham Yatra, a news magazine has claimed that she has been whisked away and kept at yoga guru Ramdev's ashram in Rishikesh, Uttarakhand.

According to an exclusive report in The Week, Jashodaben was picked up and packed off to Modi's ardour fan Ramdev's ashram near the Neelkanth Mahadev temple in Rishikesh in Uttarakhand where she will stay until the elections are over

Quoting Vishwa Hindu Parishad sources, the report, titled The Forgotten Half, said, "...soon after Modi acknowledged Jashodaben as his wife, Hindu activists and security professionals dressed as pilgrims arrived on her doorsteps in three white SUVs. They told her that her long-standing wish for a Char Dham yatra had come true. Sources said the group took her to Ahmedabad, where she boarded a chartered flight to Aurangabad near the Uttar Pradesh-Uttarakhand border, and then to Ramdev's isolated mountain-top ashram at Rishikesh. Labourers in the ashram say a lady was seen arriving in a white vehicle on April 13."

Quoting another source close to Swami Swaroopanand Saraswati, the Shankaracharya of Dwarka Peeth, who recently spoke out against Modi, the report added, "Jashodaben is protected by top-level security people with ties with the Gujarat security services. Perhaps, she does not even know that those with her are not pilgrims but people tasked with keeping her away from the public eye."

Even since Modi acknowledged Jashodaben as his wife after many Assembly polls where he did not make a mention of his marital status, rivals, especially the Congress, lambasted the Gujarat Chief Minister as being disrespectful to his wife.

With poll rhetoric suddenly a turn towards Modi's own house, the BJP fought back by launching a scathing personal attack on Congress president Sonia Gandhi's son-in-law Robert Vadra. While there have been allegations of his controversial land deals in Haryana and Rajasthan, a dated picture of Vadra with top Gujarat industrialist Gautam Adani was also leaked to counter Congress allegations of a Modi-Adani nexus.

In face of Congress's attacks on Modi's mistreatment of his wife, the BJP maintained that all was hunky-dory between the two. Last month, Jashodaben's brother even stated that his 62-year-old sister would eat rice and remain barefoot till Modi is voted to power at the centre.

The latest discovery, if true, may provide the Congress and other political rivals barrels of fodder to take on the BJP's PM nominee.

Did Narendra Modi denied her any sort of freedom?

Did he beat her up?

Did he had any way gave her promotion in the post of teacher or any other perks she didn't deserve by being the chief minister?

Did he marry another one ?

Answer to all the above question is NO.

I didn't know that Narendra Modi had a wife. Isn't he celibate?

Why so? The wife of a future PM being hidden from the public surely speaks of some conspiracy by RAW?

The only aspect in which my book is relevant is that Babu Ramdev in a recent speech suggested that Modi would seek to achieve Akhand Bharat through annexation of Pakistan and Bangladesh. This news report suggests that Ramdev has some power and influence over Modi. Since you insist in bringing my book into every thread even when only tangentially relevant here is the link for your satisfaction -
