It is partially operational as

Shanghai—Nanjing—Hefei--Wuhan—Chongqing—Chengdu

with sections of the Wuhan-Chongqing stretch running at 200km/h and the 350km/h Chongqing-Chengdu section opening in 2014.

The 2nd Shanghai-Chengdu HSR is the 2078km

Shanghai--Hangzhou—Nanchang—Changsha—Kunming

line with Shanghai-Nanchang section scheduled for opening in 2014 and a branch line starting from somewhere between Changsha and Kunming and ending in Chengdu, for which the watch word is 2016.

Actually, The CHR between Guangzhou and Shenzhen has been in operation for quite a few years.

Great.the first high speed rail operates in 2013.
