NA rejects resolution on liquor ban

The National Assembly Tuesday rejected a resolution calling for a ban on the manufacturing, import, sale and drinking of liquor and issuance of its permits in the country.

PML-N’s MNA Chaudhry Hamid Hameed moved the resolution, which stated that the government should take effective steps to impose a ban on manufacturing, import, issuance of permits, sale and drinking of liquor in the country. However, the House rejected the resolution when State Minister for Interior Baleeghur Rahman contended that it is of no use because a ban is already in place to bar the “common man” in the country from drinking. Interestingly, when the resolution was put to vote, there were few voices of “no”, that too meek and that was construed as rejection of the resolution. The House also unanimously passed a resolution demanding the government take effective steps for elimination of poverty from the county. The resolution was moved by Dr Imran Khattak of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf and stressed devising job provision programmes to revive the industry and alleviate poverty.

to bar the “common man” in the country from drinking.

^ Ducking munafiqs. So it's okay for the high and mighty to drink alcohol but abhorrent for the "common man", yet is the same "commoner" man or woman that helps put these supercilious bastards in seats of power.

Wonder who cleans the streets, who staffs the hospitals when these rascals fall ill, who mans the checkpoints leading to their palatial walled mini fiefdoms, who drives the busses and public transport, who does all of this and more? The so called "common man", well if that is what you call good, honest hard work, then I am proud to be a "common" person.

Seems our elected officials are still stuck in this mentality:

Yet they get put in their place by common border officials and random people abroad:

What is funnier, is that these bloated gas bags know they dare not ban alcohol, for whilst they will still be able to enjoy it in private bars like the Royal Palm, Gymkhana, Marina Club etc... The touts that sell the product in the black market would rip them a new a-hole.
