But have you forgotten Zia's doctrine of 'bleeding India with a thousand cuts'? That's now written in stone in the PA's Green Book!

Pakistan knows it cannot afford a war with India. So what's the next best thing? Conduct a proxy war by the Establishment's 'strategic assets' which are the 'good terrorists' like the LeT and JeM who have been raised, funded and trained for this sole purpose to finger India especially in Kashmir.

BTW Zia is the most despised leader in Pakistan now. He wasn't even a legitimate leader but an imposter dictator who threw out elected prime minister from power.
What ever was done in 80s people had no say in it.
But it have changed now. Pakistan is a democracy and Army is helping strengthening it. Decisions are made by Federal govt and they have to face the Parliament for whatever they do. It is not the same old Pakistan. And i suggest Indians should also ease out and accept the new realities.
As for the cold war between India and Pak. Well its a two way mess. I know you will argue to death that India do not create any trouble in Pakistan and its only Pak that is culprit. Well i will not argue on this believe as u fell good for. But that little subcontinent cold war is a two way mess and will be washed out gradually as trust builds on both sides.

The point is
Neither India Nor Pakistan have operational capability to invade and occupy other. Yes BOTH. Current Indian military sources are enough to defend a Chinese invasion but not like most Indians want to believe, to invade and occupy Pakistan. Indian Army simply lack the numbers to overcome Pak forces. And Pak forces are already smaller then India so there is no possible way Pak can pose a conventional war threat to india
Trivial Terrorist attacks are a big issue but is no way excuse to start a war.

Governments cannot do shit if people don't change their mindset first. we should start looking each other like neibours without ifs and buts of Past.and stop this arch rival shit. And that can only be done with respect.

Atleast we can do our part by spreading message of peace. I always convince my Fellow Pakistanis to at least try talking to indians for a start. They are the same Family centric, Music loving, Highly emotional, Hating corruot politicians type of people like all of us here in Pakistan.
People hate India so much for 1971 here in Pakistan that they totally ignore mistakes of our own government and consider every Indian as a conspirator against Pakistan. A lot of my friends have started chatting with indian folks and were like. Hey they are jusy like us lolz
