You're incorrigible2029 is a conservative estimate. Assuming that Rahul Gandhi has 30-40 years of politics left in him, we can very well see BJP government celebrating the centenary celebration of our independence day.
Conveniently omitting all of the favourable impacts the current GoI is having on the economy that directly translates into poverty alleviation.well, other than western weapons manufacturers and saffronis, who else in the world needs it??
modi sarkar is doing everything to cut the branch it is sitting on.
2024 will suffice- churn in politics is very healthy, having longer than a decade in power is not going to inherently benefit India. Hopefully by then, the opposition is more credible than some dynastic party and offers a genuine and appealing alternative to the incumbent party.2029 is a conservative estimate. This shouldn't be a political thread, being as it is about a WTF falling to earth...but nowadays it seems everything is traceable to Modi. You are right Ofcourse, India desperately needs a merit based two party system, the Gandhis need to be packed off to Milan to enjoy the billions they plundered from this poor country and we need talented people in leadership positions who get routinely kicked out every 5 or 10 years. And We need Presidential style debates so that we can actually debate the policy positions of the two parties. I don't know why Congress runs from that....Conveniently omitting all of the favourable impacts the current GoI is having on the economy that directly translates into poverty alleviation.

India isn't a one-party state, no one who wishes India well should be advocating such a system.
