A good question but let me give you my perspective through a recent practical example. China has conducted tests of DF-21, the anti-aircraft carrier ballistic missile. Without fighting, without facing a single shot of these, USA decided not to place its aircraft carriers in south China sea. This is called deterrence. If Argentina has deterrence and capacity to down enemy ships, their ships would be forced to their strategy. JF-17 is a multi-role aircraft and being comparable to F-16s, it can give any airforce a bloody nose.

J-10 has never attend Faborough or Paris Airshow, Dubai airshow for performance promotion aerial display to promote export like JF-17. IF China is so keen to export J-10. It will have attend most of these famous airshow to have more exposure to try selling it.

Hope this is true. It would be weird if it was us as we passed on both the J-10 and JF-17 the last time round.

Myanmar AF is gaining full momentum in modernization programme. Apart from JF 17 Myanmar also acquired 20 Grob G 120TP basic trainers from Germany. Older PT 6 piston engine trainers will be phased out soon.

I have had the same view, J-10 is by far a better and upper tier plane than JF-17 so there was no reason why China should hide it from external shows and outings if it was not keen to sell it. as far as I know its only foreign outing is in Pakistan.
China is far more confident and comfortable with J-10 , with a lot more effort and resources put into this jet and classes it as its premier plane until its 5th generation planes take over the fleet.
