But then it's a form of Hinduism ie to say it has its roots from Hinduism.
it had its roots in India. There are some concepts & terms used common to both Hinduism & Buddhism.
In any case modern Buddhism is independent of Hinduism.

i am out of here @Joe Shearer people are getting emotional ..
You beat me to it buddy.
Let's have a look at what was promised:
@UKBengali Hard proof happened (you officially complained about it again lol).....where's your big bold promise of BD "final straw" action now? Sitting in SHW purse along with all BD balls and izzat?
Ok, how about 100 Rohingya... are they a threat to the demography as well? The reason was SL already had a large Tamil population and the native sinhalese legitimately feared they will be over powered by immigrants. At that time we had only a fraction of Sinhala population we now have. If you look at countries like Fiji and Mauritius, you can see how labour from India brought by the British has altered the demography in those countries. These are now practically satellite states of India. Bangladesh did not have the issue of population and Bengali was given the foremost place.
Rohingya are not settled in SL so such a question does not arise. They did not even come to SL but was saved by SL navy in the sea. They are waiting until visa processing is finishedOk, how about 100 Rohingya... are they a threat to the demography as well?
Then why did your people attack them?Rohingya are not settled in SL so such a question does not arise. They did not even come to SL but was saved by SL navy in the sea. They are waiting until visa processing is finished
Our people did not attack them, a bunch of hooligans did and they are now arrested by the policeThen why did your people attack them?
Dont you think these hooligans started the fight against tamil? Our people did not attack them, a bunch of hooligans did and they are now arrested by the police

Most of these hooligans are not even older than 30s 40s and I hardly think they were old enough to start anything with Tamils.Dont you think these hooligans started the fight against tamil?
buddism started as rejection of existing hindu dogma... it later acquired its own dogma/practices/rituals which might be influenced by hinduism... but I think calling it a branch of hinduism will be insult to buddha...
yeah you are right... but my wider point still stands.. that buddism was supposed to be a simplification of highly ritualized existing religion... but as time went on and it became more organized to a point where it seems to be another dogmatic religion with layers of clergymen, prayers, chants, round thing to rotate etc... which is not what buddha wanted...WRONG.
Buddhism is a rejection of the Vedas. Hinduism (as we know it now) came after Buddhism.
Vedic--> Vedanta-->Buddhism (and Jainism at the same time)--> Hinduism

Wrong. I don't expect a dishelved refugee to know anything solid on the matter though.
"Seems to be" lol. You know zero about the many rivers of "Hinduism" that predated, complemented and post-dated the arrival of Buddhism that countered the "clergy" (a very abrahamic concept to begin with when it comes to ritual stratification, not surprising coming from a false flagger though). Just because history is recorded by the priestly elite, does not mean the evidence on the ground shows 100% correlation with what their perspective on society was w.r.t religion/philosophy.
For example, you have 0 knowledge on how say Bhakti worship and Shakti-ism predated Buddhism and why they did (and what evidence there is of this external to written biased and laundered record) and how they came to be and their mass appeal to the populations. @Śakra if you could be so nice to quote this message in reply so this ignorant fellow (I think he has me on ignore) can see it and get a good trouncing if he continues....its been a while since I administered it to this loud-mouth ignorant reject.
