Myanmar is implementing 0% toleration on any religious extremism. As if ............enough is enough.
It's stomach-turning. Incidentally, Theravada Buddhism in Burma and in Sri Lanka are theologically similar, and opposed (theologically) to the Mahayana, to which the Dalai Lama belongs. It's Protestants vs. Catholics, Shia vs. Sunni, but they don't (yet) kill each other. It is the Theravada school that seems to go bananas from time to time; it happened in Sri Lanka around the 40s of the last century, and accelerated to the point where they would have got rid of the original Lankan Tamils, the Jaffna Tamils. Now we see the same sickening development in Burma.
And according to PDF indian "think tank" promoting genocide by Myanmar regime with help of buddhist extremists and active support from india, are all good deeds. This raises question - what kind of "think tank" PDF host and genocidal mentality indian professionals harbor.
Are you retarded or something??
Putting up words of your own fantasy.
I once read a article over, how Buddist in Sri lanka did not even Spare Hindu's in Sri lanka .. when they go on to full killing spree ..
idk, i've heard from srilankan friends of mine how tamil tigers cut open womb of pregnant mothers and decapitated the foetus.... their family had suffered in those instances too.... and since i'm not very much aware of this topic... i've heard that tamils are to blame for what happened in sri lanka and india has provided them with arms.... and that UN forces found indian arms or so....I once read a article over, how Buddist in Sri lanka did not even Spare Hindu's in Sri lanka .. when they go on to full killing spree ..
The problem with countries like Myanmar and to some extent Sri Lanka is that, they have very much politicized/ nationalized Buddhism. This is much like political Islam, or political Christianity in medieval Europe, they have created a political Buddhism. You could have said, Myanmar Buddhist are just having a legitimate concern about Muslim threat, they are nice with all other religion. But this is not the case. They are persecuting Christian as well.Karen and Chin people are facing a lot of hardship due to their Christian faith.Same with Hindus, despite living many generations, many Hindus in Burma are still stateless, not to mention the mass expulsion of Hindus to India in 1960s.They have amalgamated Buddhism, extreme Burmese nationalism and patriotism into one mold.Power corrupt, even a religion like Buddhism. It's stomach-turning. On a completely different note, I feel so much more at peace with myself now that Indian aid has started flowing into Bangladesh for the Rohingyas.
@UKBengali I thought this wasn't going to happen again. How many times has the airspace been violated now?You talk tough to Burmese posters here but we all know the reality on the ground. If you cannot walk the talk with them how are you going to cope up with others?
Let Myanmar even dare invade BD airspace again and they will be shot down promptly.
There are Mig-29s, F7s and FM-90 SAMs ready to deal with any threats.
Just let Myanmar dare again.
BD warships are also right off the Myanmarese coast.
Sure the 2 subs are also lurking to pounce if need be.
Myanmar now knows that it will get hammered if it tries this stunt ever again.
We need hard proof of this.
Those FM-90 SAMs have a max range of 15km and altitude of 6km. They can engage 3 targets simultaneously.
Forget helicopters, they can easily shoot down fast flying jets with ease. Logically I do not think that Myanmar would risk flying into their "kill zone".
Please supply CREDIBLE proof and then I will admit that my earlier statement was mistaken. Unless you can do so, it still stands. Think about it logically, those FM-90s are some of the best SAMs in their class. Myanmar army\airforce is not at all sophisticated electronically and so cannot hope to escape if they get within range. Without having categorical guarantees that their helcopters will not be shot down, they will not even risk going anywhere near the BD border, let alone cross it.
I feel so much more at peace with myself now that Indian aid has started flowing into Bangladesh for the Rohingyas.
