Its just a mindset, because in WW2 Americans used Japnese as Japs when implying them as enemy.Just a suggestion sirjee, the bolded part is a derogatory racial slur for Japanese, better edit it, before receiving a warning.
In aftermath of WW2, obviously no one love defeat. So, need to give this word a different shape and form.
But how this word become racial slur which have nothing to do with "Race"?
This word is not used for Koreans or Chinese or Malaysian. The more right term is "Imperialistic slur". But to save the face from defeat, the Japnese Govt. in the end give this term a racial slur.
If someone hate Imperialism, he should love this term, but actually this is reverse.
