What's new

Myanmar troops open fire on civilians fleeing attacks.

Before you bash Bangladesh's economy, I will remind you that Bangladesh's garment industry is one of the largest in the world and is magnitudes bigger than India's.

Uh no its not. Since when is exports (reliant on LDC quota handout and already creaking now) = total output?

@gslv mk3 (Please post latest total garment + textiles output of each country for this moron thanks).

"Magnitudes bigger" lol. Like saying because India exports more cars (yes by count and by realised value) than China that we have magnitudes larger car production. CPC 5 cent logic STRONK.

India cannot manufacture anything the world wants or its citizens want ... and hence their enormous trade deficit.

Basic economics 101 goes out the window (like how much trade/GDP ratio much less the deficit is in the first place for India) lol....but the emotional feels based on the bad logic in first place = cannot manufacture anything. What can we expect from a false flagger chinese troll though.

In some ways, a population of 140 billion is much more successful than a population of 1.3 billion in economic terms.

140 billion....wow thats a lot of people lol. But then numbers and logical argument are not your strong suit to begin with.

The fact is Bangladesh cannot sit by idly while the Myanmar regime slaughters those poor Rohigyna.

Fact is thats exactly whats going to happen (just like the last wave). You just need to sit and watch.

20,000+ fled BD illegals (aka rohingyas) have returned to BD in just a few days time + number increases each passing day....and BD does nothing except send a couple dozen back....for some optics on "protecting the border".

. .
(Assuming you meant 160 million) Then why exactly is Bangladesh a LDC & is have a lower HDI score than India ?
I mean the massive popularity of Bangladesh's garment industries, second only to I believe China (or even bigger, I'm not sure). India does not lead or close to it in any form of manufacturing. Modi's Make in India initiative I'm afraid has failed due to entrenched bureaucracy once more.

As @Nilgiri has pointed out, exports (which are actually reliant on LDC quotas) is not equal to total output.

As for India,

"We see tremendous growth potential for the textile industry and it is expected to touch USD 250 billion in the next two years from the present USD 150 billion. The domestic market is (currently) estimated at USD 110 billion and exports at USD 40 billion," Textile Commissioner Kavita Gupta said.

India does not lead or close to it in any form of manufacturing

Hyundai: India now world's fifth largest car manufacturer

India Becomes World's Largest Motorcycle Manufacturer

Modi's Make in India initiative I'm afraid has failed

Make in India program has attracted more foreign investment than anything in Bangladesh.

India cannot manufacture anything the world wants or its citizens want ...

Says someone from Bangladesh. Ah, the irony.

Probably an average SEZ like Sri City in the Indian state of Andhra Pradesh produces more diverse basket of products than entire Bangladesh.
