Yunnan always had close relation with Burma,the Kingdom of Nanchao destroyed the Pyu kingdom,and the Bamars came from Yunnan as well

As South East Asian, I have met many Barmese, and they reside in Singapore. One Barmese guy here claim they are cultural similar to India, and I think it is completely bullshit. Barmese are 100% similar to Yunnanese minorities and has no difficulties in integration with Chinese Singaporeans.

What makes them stand out a bit is some are obviously having Indian blood.

The Bamar language belong to Lolo-Burmese branch of Tibeto-Burman language.But I think in culture,the Burmese culture is more similar to Tai/Shan/Lao and Mon/Khmer cultures,they are both theravada Buddhist,their culture is clearly indian influenced
