Myanmar aircraft cross Bangladesh border, fire shells

Bold part: Our Hasina Bibi does not want a strong military that can fight and win against MM. She is afraid the military will then come to the front of politics with people supporting them.

It is a nightmare for Hasina Bibi if she gets only secondary popularity. She wants to remain supreme in the country by not fighting MM.

So, she keeps the airforce weak and grounded.

If there is any danger that military might get involved in politics - that’s a very good reason to decapitate them.

Military regimes always bring the economy to its knees.

These buggers must stay out of politics.

China will have no problem conducting business with BNP lead Bangladesh unlike India
@Homo Sapiens ,
This time BNP will allow embassy of Taiwan in Bangladesh!

Read from 2004 !

Don't be fooled by Mullah propaganda that BNP is anti India, and BAL is Indian stooge.

Rather help BAL freed from India stooges!

You are a doctor , so at least an academic qualified person. So please try to think deeply!

The same people are still predominant in BNP!

No interception attempt?

How can giving airforce good interceptors and strike aircraft possibaly increase there capacity to take over government? 🤔
Is there any logical link? Look at Malaysian, Indian and Vietnamese armies for a comparison. Armed to teeth but cannot even dream of interfering in government.
Pakistan Army's massive arsenal has nothing to do with their grip on country and annoying practice of interference in goveenment. Even AK clad armies of African countries make coups and take over governments.

Myanmar security forces orchestrated a series of fierce attacks from fighter planes and helicopters inside Bangladesh border in Bandarban on Saturday morning.

Shells and gunshots were fired from warplanes and helicopters in the Ghumdhum area at around 9:20am.

Bandarban Superintendent of Police (SP) Tariqul Islam said law enforcers are currently on alert after the incident.

However, no casualty was reported.

On Thursday, State Minister for Foreign Affairs Md Shahriar Alam said Bangladesh is better prepared so that none can enter from Myanmar now due to the deteriorated situation in Rakhine state.

“We do not want to step into Myanmar's provocation or trap,” he said, adding that the Myanmar side might have a strategic benefit if they can move in such a unilateral direction.

Police and locals said that two warplanes and helicopters patrolled across the Myanmar border between BGB-BOP border pillars no 40-41 in Ghumdhum's Tumbru area.

At that time around 8-10 shells were fired from the warplanes, and two of them landed 120 metres inside Bangladesh.

Besides, the helicoptrs were also seen firing some 30 bullets.

Locals also said at least four rounds of heavy shells were fired from BGP-2 Tambru Right Camp in Myanmar part, between the border pillar No 34-35 in Naikhongchari on Saturday morning.

Firing was also reported from Muringajhiri Camp and Tambru Right Camp in Myanmar.

On August 28, Myanmar's Border Guard Police (BGP) hurled mortar shells at the border in Bandarban’s Naikhongchhari.

As many as three mortar shells were consecutively hurled from the other side, creating fear among the locals and Rohingyas.

Later on Monday, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs summoned Myanmar Ambassador to Bangladesh Aung Kyaw Moe and lodged a strong protest.

"We have lodged a strong protest with Myanmar so that such incidents do not happen again. We have also strongly condemned the incident," Foreign Secretary Masud Bin Momen told reporters at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

He said a note verbale was handed over to the ambassador.

On August 30, an Mi-35 helicopter belonging to Myanmar air forces entered into Bangladesh airspace in the morning hours.

Myanmar news portals reported that the military junta has used Bangladesh airspace to attack the Arakan Army (AA) by its helicopters.

A fierce fighting between the Myanmar security forces and AA members has been taking place since the middle of August after the AA reportedly conducted an offensive against the government along the border.

Lol for real? I guess bd military dick still missing as usual. useless bunch.

This is the result of neutering of Bangladesh armed forces, especially the air force. Let's induct more trainers.

Perhaps Myanmar saw our performance in Asia cup and figured these "sissies" will never fight back. They are right, can't argue with that.
What do they even train for?? Which threat??
If the emphasis is on training, then they should at least have a known aerobatic team which performs worldwide.

I don’t think Vietnam and Indonesia are good examples.

Both had long stretch of dictatorships.

And both have active insurgencies.

BD military is full of big heads with small brains - who think they should run the country.

Military rules of Zia and Ershad destroyed our economy.

And the military rule after the whore Khaleda - was even worse.

That is the million dollar question. What do they train for? No one knows. We needed MRCA decade ago, all we managed was to buy a bunch of trainers of different variety. No vision no direction.

If the neighboring country is allowed to intrude into the territory and conduct their missions without prior authorization, what's the point of even having an air force!

Myanmar is being supported by China, Russia and Pakistan.

For obvious reasons, India will stay neutral in any Myanmar-BD conflict.

So BD's best option is to work with US, Japan & EU.

No.

Myanmar is an unpredictable mafia state. They will work with anyone and have no loyalty. They have close ties to India as well. India gifted them Kilo subs couple of years ago to counter China's move to gift subs to Bangladesh.

China is tolerating them is because Burmese ports have key strategic location and gives them access to Indian ocean. Plus natural gas and oil deposits.

Pakistan doesn't really have much choice but to follow Chinese interest here. So the statement Pakistan is supporting the Burmese, as if it is in their foreign policy to counter India, is an overstatement.

Besides, as a Muslim country there is nothing of pride to support a genocidal state which killed and pillaged an entire minority Muslim ethnic group. You should read the horror stories the Rohingya suffered at the Burmese hands.

Yes, you are right MM has no right to enter through the BD border. But, what does a country do when its rebels are given shelter by another country?

So, now it is a contest between the two national forces. Either BD expels the AA rebels or accepts pounding by the MM troops or attacks the MM forces.

Do you think BD has the power to contest the MM airforce although our PDF brats are fond of dividing India into two?

There is no proof that Bangladesh is knowingly harboring and funding Arakan Army. It's a remote area so it is very much possible for AA to hide and operate from BD. Bangladesh does not have the financial muscle to fund an independence movement for the AA - that is something only US can do. It is in US's interest to maintain chaos in Myanmar so that China's plan for using Burmese ports through CMEC (China Myanmar Economic Corridor) fails. US is the one who is funding Karen rebels and others through Thailand.

Any decent nation would use diplomatic channels to address issues like this. If we go by the justification you are presenting, by that same logic BD should attack the Yaba producers in Myanmar who are sponsored and protected by Burmese Junta.

Only Indians make big claims that BD's DGFI is somehow working with ISI in Pakistan to host AA jihadis. (Source: https://lookeast.in/dgfi-backs-arsa-but-police-hunt-for-them/ )
That couldn't be further away from truth because we all know DGFI is now nothing but Hasina's pet dog and their expertise is at abducting, torturing and subduing any opposition to BAL.

As for your question on BAF - no way. BAF has fallen far far behind the capabilities of MAF in the last decade under BAL neglect for BAF.

As for cutting India in two- it is a wet dream, never going to happen.

Doesn't matter what we have. There was no scrambling. Even though we Laugh at F7s, they are good enough for these situations. Their role is to intercept.

The only question is why do we remain silent and provide meek response over and over again to these violations from Burmese? The concern is less with capability but more with intent from top brass.

The only reason I can think of is that they struck some sort of deal perhaps brokered by China to give free pass to Burmese for these attacks on Arakan Army within BD territory.

The Burmese army also shelled us.

You are correct. The neglect towards Bangladesh Air Force has nothing to do with coup fears. Bangladesh Army has history of coups but they have been well funded and loyalists were appointed to keep Sheikh Hasina in power.

The neglect towards Bangladesh Air Force has direct link to India putting pressure and the Hasina Govt. bowing down to it. Indians went berserk when BD simply acquired C-802 back in 2007s. Imagine how they would take it if BAF was equipped with J-10C or JF-17, which are perfect cost effective and potent platforms for BAF.

The Burmese army also shelled us.

Thanks for that. I think China is tolerating them for the sake of CMEC and having that strategic access to Indian ocean. Otherwise they are very unreliable and unpredictable as strategic partners.

We chose patience for the sake of the Chinese descendants in northern Myanmar.

The people of several autonomous regions in northern Myanmar are mostly Han people or ethnic minorities from China.

i also think so. current strategy:
- focus on election
- focus on election
- focus on election
- focus on election
- focus on BNP
- deploy all assets to beat the shit out of non BAL supporters
- no need to buy advanced equipment rather than focus on defence welfare so that they dont come out of the cantonments.

so there is no time to think about protecting the border, protecting national interests, creating jobs, industrialization, supporting the poor, making bd a livable place.
