Myanmar AF has recently acquired 20 Grob G 120TP trainers. Fifteen G120TPs are already in service with Myanmar AF since early 2015 and the delivery of remaining five aircrafts will be completed by mid of July this year. Myanmar AF has gained full momentum in modernization programme. PT 6 piston engine trainer aircraft will be replaced by G 120TPs and phased out of active service by the end of this year. Myanmar also acquired 20 - 32 JF 17 from Pakistan very recently and the delivery will be completed by 2017. MiG 29 SE are also being upgraded to SMT since 2014. After completing its modernization programme in 2018, the aircrafts that will be in service with Myanmar AF will be as followed:-

1. 27 MiG 29 SE/SMT
2. 20/32 JF 17 Block II
Trainers
1. 20 Grob G120TP
2. 52 K 8 W (Advance Trainers and Ground Attack)
3. 4 MiG 29 UB
