My love for Bangladesh makes me a Bengali, not necessarily a Muslim

There many people (secular type) who carry Muslim name but not believer.These people DO NOT represent Bangladesh in any shape and form. They are few and far between given the population size. Independence struggle of Bangladesh started non in 1970 but far back in 40s when Bangladeshi Muslims wanted freedom from british and hindu repression (jaminder protha, depriving Muslims from education, job etc.) because of their Muslim identity. One has to recall history of riots and dead bodies of Muslims in street and river of West Bengal. What happened in 1971 was climax of the spirit of independence of Bangladeshi Muslims. Unfortunately secular, who were dominating socio economic class and indian influenced type hijacked the narrative of Bangladesh independence. Core and source of Bangladesh independence was always Muslim identity and establishing own destiny for Muslims in Bangladesh. Language was a friction and political tool used to getting out of Pakistan but never was core spirit and reason to seek independence for Bangladeshi Muslims.

You yourself are more aligned to artificial Bangladeshi identity rather than Islam and Allah.

With prosperity, you will have more secular folk and irreligious folk. Pick any country as example.
And the secular ones are richer, better educated, of course they will decide the narrative.
