Featured 'My dream’: PM shares master plan of ‘Pakistan’s first knowledge city’

. .
You make fun of our PM, taking advantage of his lack of knowledge outside cricket field. Shame on u
Indians and PML-N supporters always on the same page. Must be something in the food being eaten in Lahore.

. .
That is not true. I was told he is highly educated from Cambridge.

Cricket scholarship you mean. His father was corrupt bureaucrat which meant Imran Khan lived quite luxurious life.

By Mullahs you mean those rapists or child abusers, than I recommend most severe punishment possible under the Islamic laws.

However, if you are referring the Islamic scholars, then you are gravely mistaken. They are the jewels and gems of this nation. They are the blessing bestowed by Allah Subhan wa taala.

The very first verses of Holy Quran which were revealed to Holy Prophet SalAllahu Wassalam started from an Arabic word "Iqra" meaning "read"

"Read, ˹O Prophet,˺ in the Name of your Lord Who created— " Holy Quran 96:1

Islamic teachings are all about learning one and only truth - reason and purpose of our creation.

In 600 AD for Arab world China was considered a far away land. There is a tradition of Prophet Muhammad SalAllahu Wassalam, he stated that to learn one must even go to China or similar words to that effect.

In Holy Quran there are many verses where Allah Subhanahu wa taala commands the humankind to seek and learn truth from the various signs of the nature.

The foundation of modern Science was laid by the Muslim scholars, scientist and mathematicians.
It is very unfortunate that we as a Muslim nation lost the true way and fell.
Nevertheless, the success will only come if we sincerely seek the true way. No corruption, fair justice, peace, and sharing.

May Allah Subhanahu wa taala guide us to achieve eternal success, prosperity, peace and fair justice. Ameen.
Maay Allah Subhanahu wa taala bless Pakistan by sending a brave, upright, honest and just leader to steer this country to success, peace, and fair justice. Ameen.
May Allah Subhanahu wa taala bless Pakistan to stand as strong and leading nation among the nations of the world. Ameen.
Their is a vast difference between the imams of yesteryear and the money/power hungry mullahs of today.
They should be beheaded in public

Has schools of business, engineering, medical, science, philosophy etc etc. A full fledged university on the scale of Oxford etc offering a diverse range of degree programs.

Usually in Pakistan our universities just focus on a specific area, while world over and specially in the west most large universities cover everything. That is also one of the reasons our unis rank so low because how holistic the university is a big measure for the ranking.
One can't just wake up one day and everything will be all good. Take what comes as positive and work iteratively towards the next step.

The "Mullah" term is often applied to a Muslim, educated in Islamic theology and Sharia (law). People disguising themselves as pious and appear like Islamic scholars should not be called Mullah. Rapists, child abusers and money/power hungry do not deserve to be called as Mullah. They should be called devils in disguise and must be treated by stone pelting as the Hajjis do during Haj.

Islamic scholars are gems and jewels of Islamic society. They never seek worldly gains, instead they spend their own wealth to manage Islamic schools and welfare organizations. They are always a part of the Islamic society and their existence is a blessing of Allah subhanahu wa taala.

No bro, Lahore is one of the most anti-Indian city in Pakistan. We are keenly aware what Indians tried to do to our city multiple times and fail.

It would good to push education reform and introduce STEM research all over Pakistan.

Exactly. It says "read". Not "mullah". No where in Quran does it say anything about clerics. Man and Allah. No mediums or merchants of religion.

How do explain the phenomenon whereby Sindh and Balochistan have the most regressive political setups, yet at the same time they are dominated largely by a next-to-secular feudal class with the religious orthodoxy having little say in policy making...

First, the ruling feudal class are not politically secular as they rely on the religious orthodoxy underpining their positions of power. If you look feudal societies religio often the device by which the masses underneath them are kept sedated and this is the case with rural Sindh. Secondly real secular groups in Sindh which articulate a ethnic nationalism have been marginalized by the Pakistan state. Instead pseudo secular parties like PPP hold the upper hand. If you look at past attempts to reform land ownership and limiting the landlords the mullah class declared this as against Islam thus exposing the deep understanding between the elites and mullahs./

Mullahs or Islamic scholars or Islamic clerics are neither medium or merchants of Islam. They are simply teachers who teach Islamic teachings. It is a tradition of Holy Prophet Muhammad SalAllahu Wassalam that there were many companions living in the Masjid e Nabwi learning Holy Quran and its explanation from Holy Prophet SalAllahu Wassalam. This tradition of teaching and learning of Quran Majeed and its explanation is a continual process from past to present.
