Why do Hindutvawadis want uniform civil code?

These self proclaimed "thekedars" of Hinduism that have suddenly crawled out of their woodwork in the last year or so are politicians and most of their lackeys are also people with deep political motives. Religion is just a political tool, just like caste.

But true Hindu doesn't go around tormenting other religion over a piece of meat. These so called "sena" if they are that serious about Hinduism, then they should take up the fight where it matters - volunteer to build roads, go to remote villages to build schools, help poor farmers in cultivation, create neighborhood patrols to make their mothers and sisters safe at night. Volunteer in forest dep't to protect animals from poaching.... - All above are the traits of a the hindu religion.

Extreme right wing, cultist, racist kind of movements don't last that long..

but societies have used these kind of movements to cleanse their countries. .nazi went too far, but the western world, Japanese, Russians, Chinese, the muslims have employed these kind of extreme mentality to clear what they deemed unnecessary..Mao, Stalin...The sunni employed it to cleanse it's countries of almost all their minorities. .

There was a feeling building up among Indians where many feel a lot of cleansing is needed in the society, governance, appeasement of vote bank groups which was proving detrimental to the country.

I for one feel we need a reign of such a nationalist "on the verge of" extreme right wing group for a good 10 to 15 years so that there is some degree of cleansing...We can go back to becoming "secular" again just like what the westerners did....and that's the thinking behind most of the general vote bank.

Because Hindutvadis are the real secular and seculars are the real communal. They are just upset their caste based division of hindus which is ingrained in the constitution and the system is falling apart. Hindu unity will destroy caste system...

as I read in an article on the bihar polls recently, it said BJP is secular in the way of equal treatment for all whereas the 3 idiots are aggressively secular.

I have absolutely no problem with the Modi govt. On the contrary I like a lot of the things he is doing.

sickularism is a term used to make fun of self proclaimed seculars who are not really secular but pander to minorities and to a certain political party and support caste based division of society and jobs. Hence the term Sickular...

Hindu Rastra simply means where people are proud of their history and their culture, forcing minorities to convert or blindly accepting other cultural traits is not part of it. Mohan Bhagwat himself says accepting positives attributes of other religions and shedding unscientific values of Hinduism should be a priority.

I think the talk about Uniform Civil Code now is to create hurdles . First it was said that BJP is trying to change the Reservation system which was never BJP intention and now this Uniform civil code talks.

Now is the wrong time to do any changes in reservation of uniform civil code, expect changes only after the second term where BJP is majority in both LS and RS. Until then BJP will try balancing it out...

As long as caste system is ingrained in the system and in the constitution, no amount of education is going to remove it. Hindu unity is a reality, it worked in LS 2014, development wasn't the only reason this govt. got votes. By the way, Hindu unity really got momentum after congress tried passing the "Communal violence bill" .
