These are some of my first articles by the way:
Mumbai Attacks: A Fairytale Gone Bad

The 25 points

A Hindu hand exposed.

The Indian government and the Hindutva media has once again gone on a bloodlust after the Mumbai attacks where only 10 terrorists held the city hostage for over 60 hours massacring over 170 people. Several leaders of Hindu terrorist outfits held in high regard in India such as the VHP, Shiv Sena and RSS have stated that war with Pakistan is the only solution. The RSS chief even suggested all out nuclear war to cleanse the World of “Evil Pakistan”.

While this warmongering and the blame game continued unabated several intellectuals and the intelligentsia from the Indian, Pakistani and even Western societies have gotten together and decided to find out who was really behind the attack knowing that the government was unlikely to give justice to all those who were killed and had no wish to expose the true perpetrators of the attack. These people seem to be the only hope for the World as they work tirelessly to expose the truth and have already uncovered several evidences of Hindu involvement proving a strong Shiv Sena link.

Let us take a look at the several facts that are before us, the information that they have uncovered and the questions they have raised that seem to have proven the Hindutva Media and Politicians bedtime story about “The big bad Pakistani Wolf” a Myth:

1 Pakistan and Bangladesh based militants with the support of ISI have been blamed for almost every attack in India. Can it really be true that no attack takes place without Pakistan being blamed even though India makes 1/5th of the World Population and is known for religious violence?

2 The terrorists were talking in Hindi their speaking style their interviews with the media proved they were from Hyderabad as was stated by them. Many Hyderabadis themselves confirmed that they really were from the region of Hyderabad seeing their speaking style and interview.

3 Hemant Karkare had implicated Colonel Prasad Purohit and a number of Indian Hindu terrorists for the attacks and stated that some BJP leaders could be responsible for the attacks. He was killed within the first 10 minutes of the attack. Several BJP leaders have said that “he got what he deserved” and some fanatic hindu websites stated he was a “slave of muslims”

4 It is speculated that Hemant Karkares widow did not take Modi’s compensation for this very reason and she knew he was trying to capitalize on the anger left after the attacks as a basis to demonize Muslims and blame Pakistan. Several people suggested she might have thought or known he was responsible for the attacks as well. Why did Karkares wife deny the compensation if she did not know that there was definitely something fishy surrounding the murder of here husband?

5 Hemant Karkare received death threats from Hindu fanatics a day before he was killed and he had exposed a group named Abhinav Bharat and had said it was involved in previous attacks against Muslims. Could this have been the cause of his death and the members of this shadowy outfit the perpetuators?

6 Indian forces inability to stop only 10 terrorists who caused so much damage casts major doubts about the Indian government description of the events. Several people are wondering how just 10 terrorists could cause such a massive scale of carnage killing over 170 civilians without being stopped.

7 The timing of the attacks could not be any better. Elections were just a few days ahead and this attack was set to give BJP a Right Wing Hindu Nationalist Party a major boost in the elections.

8 Jamaat Ud Dawa is a charity and all of Pakistan rallies in its support and surprisingly even the Hindus and Christians in Pakistan rallied for it claiming it was in no way a terrorist organization as it provided them with education and healthcare. JuD have over 180 schools, 40000 students and thousands who live on their aid and medical supplies daily. Is this really a terrorist organization or a victim of the same blame its neighbours that India has been doing for years. Shweta Mayur has specifically raised this point.

9 Why was Mr Qasab wearing a band that only Hindus can wear? This is the greatest blow and reveals the truth about the attacks and the attackers. The band he was wearing is a band that is worn by Hindu terrorists of the RSS.

10 Lashker E Toiba and ISI have been blamed before in Samjhauta Express and Malegaon attacks as well & it was later proven that Purohit was actually involved for both. Over 50 Pakistanis died in the same attack and this was also blamed on the Lashker E Toiba at first. So how credible is Indias version of events and what is being hidden this time?

11 The list of 20 people India gave to Pakistan include names of dead people, people not in Pakistan and people who have been in jail for years. Is this list a joke?

12 There is no family by the name of Qasab back in Faridkot Pakistan. Many Indian story tellers tried their level best to somehow change that and made fools out of themselves trying to find a Pakistani link. Some even went as far to say they found the family and Qasabs parents had accepted he was their son after seeing his picture. However no record of Qasab exists in Pakistani Records.

13 Many Indian intellectuals and think-tanks have raised the issue of the falsity of Indian governments claims and their disapproval of finger pointing saying hindu fanatics in India have committed the attack. One of these was AR Antulay Minority Affairs Minister whose comments are the biggest blow to expose the real version of events and said Karkare has been killed by Hindu fanatics and it should be probed.

14 Several Shiv Seniks had been talking about such an attack to “awaken hindus” across India and make them aware of the Islamic plot against them. RSS chief said such an attack was needed to make Hindus fight against the demon (Islam according to them)

15 A strange group of Islamic terrorists would go to a bar and have several drinks and start their rampage from there. Intellectuals have been wondering what kind of Islamic terrorists come in T-shirts and jeans completely clean shaven and would start their rampage from a bar.

16 The terrorist that killed Hemant Karkare spoke Marathi according to Maharashtra Times itself. Marathi is only spoken within India. Is he really a Pakistani or a victim of the blame game.

17 Several Police Officers have broken the silence and said that it was standard procedure to blame Pakistan for terrorist attacks. A Muslim Police Officer even stated that he was not sure that Ajmal Amir Qasab was a Pakistani.

18 It is claimed by the media that the attackers came from Karachi by sea. What was the coastguard doing all this time? And over 200 miles were crossed without the Indian coastguard noticing at all.

19 No one except Mr Modi the Chief Minister of Gujarat, the same person who is said to be responsible for the massacre of over 3000 muslim civilians in cold blood even thought about compensating the victims. What is this proving? That Hindus should follow terrorists like Modi instead of more secular Hindu parliamentarians because he is the only one who cares about terrorism?

20 The events were changed several times and several conflicting statements were made by different sources. First Mauritius ID cards were found with the terrorists, then they were not. The contradictory statements by different government officials and investigators cast a shadowy image to this situation.

21 Conveniently the same terrorist caught on tape was the one who was captured. Not only that but conveniently this same terrorist seems to be walking casually at the train station with an Ak47 in his hands and does not notice someone with a mobile camera taking pictures of him in what seems to be an empty place.

22 There was also a last letter Karkare had left if something were to happen to him to his friend in the ATS. The friend did not reveal the content but said that it would surprise the World and there were many more people that could be involved in the Samjhauta Express case.

23 The terrorists definitely knew the city inside out. They were well aware of the locations to strike and were so well acquainted with the city that they knew every corner. Even many Indians themselves did not know about the Jewish community center. Several sources have claimed that they had been living in Mumbai for at least a year to know the city so well. Were they Indian or Pakistani?

24 Why would the terrorists call their alleged leader Hafiz Mohammed Saeed through VOIP in the middle of the fight when Indian commandos were pounding at the hotel? Did the terrorists really want themselves to be traced back to where they actually came from and came with all preparation passports and documents to prove they were Pakistani?

25 Several Indian media circles even went as far as to claim that the attack was the handiwork of ISI. Now what kind of intelligence agency would launch an attack that could actually be traced right back to itself? It seems that “Pakistan’s Powerful Spy Agency” is more often than not a victim of the failures of others.

Do tell me what you think... i was looking for tips f4m Jana though... :(

Hey.. eventough unfortunately i dont agree or do have alternative information to present in all the 25 points.. i would have to agree that it was a good effor to start with..and probably a good read for a Pakistani reader..!!!

You could have inputed more facts too and it would be nice if you could have mentioned specifics rather than using "some website" etc. It gives a feel that you havent done the home work well behind each fact that you are stating in an article..!!!! References of the sources also could have incorporated..!!!

And i wouldnt agree with neo and web master.. as for a timeline.. since you are presenting the contradictions in the mumbai terror attacks.. it is okk..!!! but if you are aware of the entire flow and if you feel contradictions from start to end then a timeline method can be adopted i guess..!!!

Well any ways all the best in your career man.. and hope you bash us less through your articles.. !!!!;)

Mumbai Attacks: Who Was Really Responsible?

Over a month has passed since the Mumbai attacks yet the blame game has not subsided and several Indian warmongers have gone as far as to say that they are justified to launch airstrikes in Pakistan over the attacks. Only 10 minutes had the attack passed and as usual the Hindutva media machinery came to life blaming Pakistan for the attacks just like in the past. This warmongering still continues as several media outlets have called for open war against Pakistan. The chief of RSS K.S. Sudarshan a Right Wing Hindu Organization even went as far as saying that nuclear war with Pakistan was the only solution to banish evil from India.

However this rhetoric does not change the fact that the reality behind this attack is still shrouded in mystery. And unfortunately the Anti-Pakistani Campaign being built up by the Indian media seems to falling apart as sane minds are coming forward to find the real facts and circumstances behind the attack. Despite the Indian media and Politicians trying their level best to lay the blame on Pakistan’s doorstep by saying that the so called “Ajmal Amir Qasab” the lone surviving terrorist from the incident was from Faridkot in Punjab, Pakistanis remain unmoved and see this as nothing but blame which India is very famous for. Sadly this new Bollywood action movie coming from the Indian media has been met by harsh criticism from the Pakistani side and from Intellectuals and thinkers within India and across the World. Any knowledgeable person who has been looking at history and at India’s habit of blame knows that taking these claims too seriously is not a very wise path. Pakistan or Bangladesh based militants have been blamed for the past 40 major attacks in India. All these militant groups are blamed to be Pakistani by the Hindutva forces and to have links with Pakistan’s Intelligence Service ISI according to the Indian media and politicians. This has been denied constantly in the past by both Pakistan and Bangladesh. The terrorist himself is captured talking in Hindi and even spoke Marathi according to Maharashtra Times. There is absolutely nothing that suggests he is a Pakistani as in Pakistans records there is no family in Faridkot by the name of Qasab and he is not in the government records either.

India is also well known and very famous for Muslim and Hindu violence. In 1993 Bal Thakerey the Chief of Shiv Sena ordered his Seniks to destroy a 16th Century Mosque known as the Babri Masjid in Ayodha which led to riots where over 3000 Muslims were killed. Later in 2002 in Gujrat Hindu mobs supported by the Chief Minister of Gujrat Nirender Modi massacred over at least 5000 innocent Muslim civilians. Even since 2008 massive attacks on Christians resulted in 1200 Christians being slaughtered, hundreds of Christian houses and Churches being destroyed and thousands of Christians were forced to flee to refugee camps. All this was after a VHP leader Swami Laxmanananda Saraswati was killed in an attack claimed by the Maoist rebels but used as an excuse by Hindu terrorists. Therefore such spasms of violence are not uncommon in India and communal tension is very common. Also it is very irrational to assume that there can be no attack in India from within India despite the fact that India comprises almost 1/5 of the World population with such a poor record in terms of its religious tolerance. Despite this for the last 40 attacks it is Pakistan that has been blamed by the Hindutva forces in India and the Anti Pakistan campaign has been fed on by several politicians and the government controlled media in such a way that many Indians are unable to realize and see the facts for themselves.

The first major issue for the soothsayers in India is that all these claims have been proven false on many occasions in the past and have left India with little credibility when it blames a foreign nation. This lack of credibility is a challenge to Indias radicals who seek to portray Pakistan as a terrorist state. A factor contributing to this lack of credibility is the Samjhauta Express Bombings in February 2007 for example where over 50 Pakistanis were killed in a bomb attack on a train carrying passengers from India to Pakistan which was also blamed on Pakistani Lashker E Toiba militants from across the border and Indian leaders claimed it to be supported by ISI. Another attack the Malegaon blasts where the attack was concentrated on a Muslim area and therefore a large number of Muslims were killed was also blamed on ISI. However the carefully thought out Village folk tale suffered a major setback when Hemant Karkare a young police officer in India blew the cover and his investigations clearly proved that Hindu Fanatics were involved in both of these attacks.

According to Mr. Karkares investigations it was found that a Colonel in the Army Srikhant Purohit was responsible for the Samjhauta Express bombings and Karkares investigations were set to implicate even more people in the attacks. Another Sadhvi Pragya was arrested in the case and as a result of these arrests for the first time India saw Hindu terror outfits being implicated for violence even though it is common knowledge among secular Hindus and Minorities that these same Hindu terrorists had attacked Muslims and minorities before. Even more surprising is the fact that it is the same Hemant Karkare who was actually one of the first persons to be killed in the attack that actually lasted for 60 hours, only a day after Hemant Karkare had received death threats from Hindu radicals for his investigations. Several Hindu radical circles celebrated at his death saying that he deserved what he got for ‘framing’ Hindus as no Hindu can be a terrorist. This put the version of events by the media and politicians at stake as several intellectuals questioned it. Several minority leaders said Hindu terrorists were responsible for the attack while the biggest blow came when A.R Antulay, Minister for Minority Affairs demanded an investigation be launched into the murder of Hemant Karkare saying Hindu fanatics were responsible for the attack. For these comments he was forced to resign as it raised a major uproar amongst Hindu leaders who had spread the news of the attack being committed by Pakistanis with their baseless comments. Shiv Sena leaders even suggested Antulay should be hanged as no Hindu could be a terrorist.

As if this was’nt bad enough another fact adding to the Hindu Radical elements worries is the several circles are wondering how the timing of the attack seemed to be just before the state elections. The attacks gave a major boost to the Right Wing Hindu Nationalist Party BJP which is vouching for tougher anti terror laws such as the POTA (Prevention of terrorism act) and is more representative of many Hindu terrorists rather than the minorities. Modi for example is a member of this party even though it is known that he has slaughtered thousands of Muslims in Gujarat.

The Indian Media, Politicians and Police officers have also raised suspicions by giving contradictory statements about the attacks with someone saying one thing and another person saying something else making it hard for people to understand what to believe. For example at first it was being claimed that the attackers had Mauritius and Malaysian ID’s with them but later this was denied by other government officers saying they were from Pakistan. It was also claimed that Deccan Mujahedeen had claimed responsibility for the attack but this was also denied as later the media tried its best to prove Pakistani involvement even though the interviews of the terrorists clearly proved they were from Hyderabad. The media as well continues to say one thing and then contradict itself. This has added to the confusion and the several different versions of events given by Officials seem to point to the fact that something is being definitely hidden.

Jamaat Ud Dawa was blamed to be a terrorist organization and a front for Lashker E Toiba but this was proven untrue when Pakistan’s minority Hindus and Christians marched in its support saying that it was not a terrorist organization in anyway as it had helped them for years and it was an attempt to frame the group. This opinion was voiced by not only Pakistanis across the World who had done social work and knew of its 160 schools and 60000 people who benefitted from its education, healthcare, relief and aid programs but also by BBC which raised questions as to what kind of Islamic terrorists would receive support from different religious minority groups.

The greatest blow and proof that all this is true however comes when the lone surviving terrorist claimed to be of Pakistani origin is caught on tape wearing a band that Hindu terrorists usually wear making the entire scenario extremely suspicious and it throws water on the fire the media and politicians are trying to flare in the name of ‘Pakistani terrorism’ on Indian soil. Not only that but there is enough evidence of him being a very avid speaker of Hindi and he is even fluent in Marathi according to Maharashtra Times which was proven when he spoke to a ward boy in the hospital in Marathi.

In light of all this the Indian terrorist elements seem to be pulling at their hair and screaming in the face of the mounting evidence against them and the response by the elements of not only Pakistani society but of all societies all across the World who want the truth to be exposed. The plot to frame Pakistan for these attacks is wearing thin as intellectuals realize the facts behind the attacks, the suspicious nature behind them and the history of blame. Several people from India themselves have raised the question of the truth behind these attacks and are still trying their level best to get to the real facts.

It is imperative that the Indian government abandon its game and tell its people the truth. Karkare who died to ensure justice and each one of those 170 deserve justice and the only way for them to gain justice is when the governments don’t hide the facts. There is a great amount of evidence that suggests Hindu terrorists were responsible for this attack. Indian people must not be cheated into believing something untrue by the Indian media that they can decide for themselves. An investigation should be launched and links to Hindu terror outfits investigated. The information about who really committed the terrorist attack must be brought forward so that justice can be done.

By the way it says on my wordpress account that its got only 8 views so far. So what i actually need is promotion.

My newest article. Its an interview of my friend. She is barely anyone important in normal circles but in our own Nationalist groupings she is the Queen. The PNA is going public. After much debate this has been decided. Membership will be open for those who put Pakistan above all else. Flora discusses the issues of the Christians in Pakistan, rising tension between Pakistan and India and the muslims and the west, the ban of jamaat Ud Dawa a charity and its implications and also the Israel palestian conflict from a Pakistani Christian perspective. She also stresses the differences between Pakistani Christians and Americans. They are different and this distinction should be clear in the minds of Muslims.

This is 4000 words.

An interview with Flora Xavier

This week I had the honour of meeting PNA-Canada’s most well known faces Flora Xavier. Flora is famous for her social work and has raised her voice for Human Rights and Minority Rights in Pakistan. She is also the spokesperson for Pakistan Nationalists-Christian Wing and is gaining recognition for her social work. She is also pursuing a career in journalism. Her column in the Nationalist Weekly attracts a large number of followers as well.

The interview highlights the issues faced by the Christian community in Pakistan, looks at current happenings in Pakistan and talks about Pakistans policy issues including the pathetic display by the government to India’s antics. It also raises the issue of Jamaat Ud Dawas innocence and how the ban has affected 80000 individuals who JuD used to feed shelter or aid in some way. Ways to bridge the increasing gap of differences between the Muslim World and the West are also discussed.

Nice to be talking to you…

Thanks…

For a start how it like is to be a Pakistani Christian exactly and what message would you like to give Pakistan’s 97% Muslim Majority?

I have been asked the same so many times. We love our country very much and you can take it as my word that I can put my life on the line for Pakistan because no matter what we always have a bond to Pakistan and it has nothing to do with religion. But we also want to solve the problems that our Christian Community faces to be resolved. To solve these issues is the responsibility of not only Christians but all Pakistanis and avoiding or denying them will only hurt Pakistan. Sadly some people do exactly that. The 11th August Quaid E Azam Speech is my favorite of all time. Let me quote some parts I memorized by heart.

“You are free you are free to go to your temples, you are free to go to your mosques or to any other places of worship in this State of Pakistan. You may belong to any religion or caste or creed it has nothing to do with the business of the State…”

So didn’t Jinnah want a secular Pakistan where we were treated as equal? Why cant we have that Pakistan?

How tolerant towards Christians are the Pakistani Muslims and the Pakistani Government?

That’s quite blunt way to ask. The government almost ignores we are even there but the government is made up of the worst of worst, thieves, murderers people concerned about stealing the nations money, the sort so it is stupid to think anything from them at all.

The majority of Muslims respect us. But an issue is we are caught in between the West and the Terrorists just like muslims are in the west. For example when a Danish Cartoon insulted Muslims we stood right beside our Muslim brothers and sisters and protested with them joining the long marches and protests. But we were the ones attacked by fanatics in its aftermath. Terrorists started breaking into Christian houses and attacking us. The Pakistani Christians are in a situation that they haven’t faced before. On one side is the west and some idiot individuals that add fuel to fire and on another are the fanatics. We don’t know which ones are worse. The instigators of an illiterate brainless population or the population itself that is not willing to progress and abandon barbarism.

How does it feel to be representing the Christians of Pakistan and to be more specific the Christian wing of the Pakistan Nationalists? Its must have its advantages?

Well I don’t think I represent all Pakistani Christians but a certain group of Christians. Pakistani Nationalists are very different from other Pakistanis and this disparity exists in Christians as well.

I like to represent my Christian Community but some action would be pleasing. We talk and raise the issues that exist and there is much acceptance and respect for us and our thoughts amongst the community especially in PNA with Muslims even coming to defend us when we are insulted but nothing really happens in terms of action. Our Nationalist leaders simply don’t have either the power or the will and energy to change things and do away with discriminatory laws.

As far as being a part of the Pakistan Nationalists is concerned it is an honour. Pakistani Nationalism is the only hope for Pakistan.

You raised the issue of discriminatory laws. You have been fighting against discriminatory laws for a long time without effect I might add. Do you think its really possible to erase or edit if you will the Hudood ordinance and Blasphemy laws?

It is possible if people understand their affects, the grief and problems they have caused and stop supporting them. Awareness and education is important for Pakistanis. Some Muslim Leaders think that they are laws that are protecting Islam. Both laws are not only discriminatory but are being used to commit injustices. It is not the intentions behind a law that matters but its results and the results are very sad. I take a tough stand on Blasphemy specially and think of no amendment but the only thing we should do is do away with these laws completely. Truly everyone knows that Christians don’t believe in the last Islamic Prophet so let them believe what they believe and you believe what you believe. Christians should not slander him but honestly it is quite well known that we have different beliefs. Rather just accepting them might be better.

Hudood has more or less been updated to be better as police and courts will now try and investigate cases but an issue is that simply people don’t rape women with 4 witnesses sadly. No one rapes someone in front of 4 witnesses. I think there are still things that need to be amended here and many Christian women have been gang raped only because of this “rape tool” law. Many are even converted or married by some terrorists and blasphemy comes in again. If a person is converted to Islam even at gunpoint he cant say he is a Christian because 295C does not allow.

Now in a civilized society which unfortunately Pakistan isn’t I might say it would have been a fine enough just with a little amendment to the law where it says one witnesses claim is enough for blasphemy. 295B, 295/C are both so vague that you cant even understand them. 295C doesn’t give any details. Just anyone who insults the prophet should be hanged or sent to jail. How you will judge if someone really insulted the Prophet there is nothing about that.

We have to stop living in dreams and look at the reality. Too many innocent people have been wrongly accused for either burning the Quran or for insulting the Prophet by this law. Not all of them are even Minorities. Many of them are Muslims. The thing that needs to be understood is the laws aren’t meeting their purpose and are being used to wrongly accuse people and settle personal disputes. Innocent people are being framed when they never insulted the Prophet or burned the Quran and there are thousands of cases of this. Humanitarian groups manage to secure the release of many but others just languish for a crime they did’nt even commit. Over 1200 people have been framed by such trouble makers and terrorists since 1988 and many of these 1200 have been killed. Even Muslims. A Muslim scholar was burned alive by a group of terrorists for burning the Quran though his real crime was a Fatwah against suicide bombing.

The laws would be good if the people were not using it for their own personal feuds or advantages or if the law did not become a tool for terrorists to kill innocents and then say it was because they are heretics. We need to do away with blasphemy completely and people need to understand it. If we cannot do away with it and it hurts the pride of some Mullahs then at least amend it in such a way so that terrorists cant use it to kill or frame people might be a nice beginning.

What can be done to improve the lot of not only Christians but all Minorities in Pakistan?

To improve our lot we have to do away with the senseless changes that started being brought forward in 52 and 72 and discriminatory laws during Zia Ul Haq’s time. There is so much that can be done. The best thing however would be for our muslim brothers and sisters just to become a little more tolerant and be more accepting of us in Pakistani society and remember what the Quaid E Azam wanted. Quaid E Azams speeches on minorities should be part of the constitution. Sadly they are not and if they were the laws we mentioned earlier would’nt be imposed on us. Quaid E Azams words thoughts and beliefs are what should be that leads the decisions our country makes.

What do you think of the Mumbai Attacks and Indias war rhetoric? We Pakistanis seem to have a completely different explanation of events by the looks of it? Barely anyone in Pakistan believes the attacks were by Lashker E Toiba and there have been sporadic protests against the ban of Jamaat Ud Dawa which has over 80000 people who are dependent on it.

Yes there are several Pakistanis saying the Mumbai attacks is a problem of local Indian militants that have nothing to do with Pakistan and I think the points that have been made make sense and should be investigated. The Samjhauta Express attacks were proved false. I think we should be careful here and most important explain the issue to the other countries here because India has launched a heavy Diplomatic drive with their media involved in extensive propaganda campaign. I doubt Jamaat Ud Dawa is a front for Lashkar E Toiba at all and has anything to do with them. If we don’t present our side it will be a failure to Pakistans diplomacy.

India and Pakistan are suffering the same terror. Our enemies are the same terrorists. The Indians should stop raising war frenzy and should concentrate on defeating terrorism. They cause more problems for Pakistan than for India. We have had more losses in terrorism. Indians need to grow up and stop with the blame. They have been proven wrong in the past and I would assume they are being proven false again because we Pakistanis think something is definitely wrong and don’t think the terrorists were Pakistani but home grown Indian terrorists. It is Indian policy to blame Pakistan.

I remember a Hindu leader we knew was misled by their stupid comments of how Krishna temple in Lahore was being razed and went to the courts to stop it. It turned out it was hearsay and Krishna Mandir was intact and the Indians received a lashing from him. He sent a quite strong message.

Christians of Pakistan have always been involved in social work in Pakistan. Any special reason?

Well our own rights are at stake so that is definitely one of the main reasons. And another is welfare work is specially commended in the Bible and Jesus himself asked us to help those in need. It’s the same for the Quran I would guess. We just like social work that’s all.

Flora you have done social work for the Peshawar diocese and worked to aid the victims of the terrible Kashmir earthquake that killed over 73000 people. Jamaat Ud Dawa was present there right?

That’s correct. They were the first to react and come to aid of the Kashmiri people. The people there had only words of praise for them. If you say anything against them they get angry. Same would be for Ziarat as well I guess.

Did you notice or feel threatened by the Jamaat Ud Dawa workers or did you feel that they were involved in any terrorist activities?

I don’t think Jamaat Ud Dawa is a terrorist organization. I went to Kashmir in 2005 for the Earthquake relief efforts. The workers of JuD left us largely alone. There was a large group of Christians doing relief work for Peshawar Diocese and bringing relief to the victims. JuD hurt no one including the other foreign workers who were Americans and Turks. We coordinated our activities in fact and sort of ordered the Jamaat Ud Dawa workers about all the time. They did most of the hard work. I sort of acted as a sort of supervisor to the JuD guys and I looked after the injured women and children and gave them blankets and kept them warm and took classes as well in a little camp.

If they are not a terrorist organization then why the ban? Was it a very sensible thing to do this just under pressure from our “Well-wishing” Indian friends?

I think the issue is that the American team and other foreign workers perhaps did feel threatened by them. They were just put off with the big beards and the fiery sermons and enhanced basis of Islam they had in their schools which they had never seen before. An American aid worker did ask me what I thought of the JUD Mosques Imam who was exceedingly suspicious about the Americans and was making flamatory sermons and telling everyone how he disliked their presence. I replied we think the same of all Imams if they just keep to themselves. We’re more or less used to Imams and Mullahs making these kinds of sermons because we live in Pakistan and have heard enough of it and know we will hear it all our lives until we are in Pakistan. Usually from the sermons we hear the Imams always have something to say about American and Israeli policy which I think most Muslims agree on that and its their independent view which in no way means they want to bomb either of the two nations. Right?

But thing is for the Americans it was a new experience so they thought what the hell is going on. They got a translator and began a documentary when they heard the Imam mention Israel and America a few times. However the Imam never expressed his desire to kill anyone or supported suicide bombing. It doesn’t mean they mean harm or are terrorists right? I watched the documentary and it looked exaggerated because I had worked there and the documentary did not prove them terrorists at all. Just pious Muslims I guess. But the documentary tried to focus on how they could be terrorists or were training children to be terrorist in their schools which was vague.

They have been banned by the UNSC and this time we did not even approach China to Veto the decision. It is almost famous in all Pakistani circles that they were only a charity organization. Do you think this is true? And 80000 people have been hurt by this ban and the work in Ziarat will leave over 600 houses for earthquake victims uncompleted.

80000 did you say?

By stealing the bread of 80000 people US will only raise Anti-Americanism that will in turn hurt the Pakistani Christians because the illiterate and lower income groups seem to have no concept of the fact that we are not Americans and see us as exactly that.

The ban will only hurt innocent people and it is unlikely Jamaat Ud Dawa would be hurt at all. They had several schools and hospitals and were giving a heavy amount of aid to the people. If they were innocent the government had to protect them but again they failed to protect their citizens. We should have presented our case to China and asked them to Veto the decision because they understand the facts rather than America that acts without thinking. It’s a diplomatic failure on our side because we had to tell the world they are innocent and not terrorists. These diplomatic failures and failures to represent ourselves I would say are the worst for Pakistan and its Christian community. The gap between Muslims and the west is increasing and the Christian community of Pakistan is hurt most by it.

You mentioned a gap between Muslims and West. Do you think the Pakistani Christians could bridge this gap and bring our people closer?

Given the opportunity we can definitely try. We can certainly help improve the image of Pakistan.

Do you think Pakistani Christians are going to be more likely to succeed in bridging it rather than Muslims?

I think so. We are in a better position to present both sides because we see how Muslims react to certain issues and problems and then we are Christians so we think we know what the Americans are thinking and therefore find common ground and start from there.

But there is a dangerous level of difference in opinion between the West and Muslims.

What do you mean dangerous?

Well lets look at Palestine. Most Muslims if not all see Hamas and Hezbollah as defenders of Palestinians and organizations that are just responding to land that belongs to Muslims being taken over. EU and USA has it banned for terrorism for raining rockets down on Israeli areas what Muslims see as fighting back.

Now if there is such a vast difference where for one side Hamas are heroes and for the other they are terrorists then obviously it reveals a dangerous conflict of opinion.

And what do you think of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict? You described the situation beautifully but where are you in all this?

Oh me. Well I am not very impressed with the idea of Hamas throwing rockets on my roof just because lets say I am an Israeli who happens to be born there but I am not very happy with Israel bombing civilians women and children either and responding to a rocket that kills a single Israeli civilian with a bomb that kills 40 civilians. Palestine is an occupied territory where the Palestinians are not happy with Israeli rule like Kashmir. This should also be understood but Hamas should not attack innocent civilians either and accept that it has a right to exist. Hamas I would say is a much lesser evil than what Israel is doing.

So you claim to be somewhere in the middle. So can’t the Pakistani Christians find an equal footing in all this and as a result seal the damn gap and make the two sides more understanding I guess?

If you say so. The Mullahs in Pakistan will not be impressed if we try to bridge the gap. They will simply see us as siding with the Americans and Israelis.

But we can make things better. Muslims Jews and Christians are actually much closer than what many of those so called crusaders and warmongers really think.

Our views don’t coincide with any group so we are again in the same position locked in the middle where both sides think we are their enemies. Some of our views coincide with the west which wont be admired by certain Islamic sectors of our society.

We may be able to find a common ground to work on though and that may change things.

How do foreigners or since we’re in Canada how do Canadians see Christians in Pakistan?

Most of the time no one cares. Still there have been some forgettable occasions. Some of my Canadian friends had a bit of a drink and started telling me what a hell hole for Christianity Pakistan is. An Indian even had been bold enough to insult Pakistan in front of me thinking I would be very pleased. I gave a verbal thrashing nice enough but this is how people see us sadly. Media plays a major role in it too. That is why Pakistani media should counter propaganda. Things are bad I admit but not so bad and frankly we will improve our lot.

Do you think they see things in the right way? Is it really as bad for the Christians as they think?

I don’t think it is exactly right. I know we have problems but the way they talk it is as if Pakistan is uninhabitable for any Non Muslim and aren’t there 15 Million Minorities living in Pakistan? I think the media has played a major role in creating this situation. If Pakistan was so uninhabitable no Christian would think of still living there. Even here in Canada I have been appalled by the media. Their purpose seems to be more of an Anti Pakistani Campaign than showing the reality. I go every 6 months back and forth and will stay there when I am done with school here in Canada. If it was all civil war like the media says why would that be?

It’s not only their perception of Christians in Pakistan that’s a little overboard but real issue is it’s actually the entire image of Pakistan itself that’s in danger because of biased reporting and propaganda units set up by our neighbours.

Well before I let you loose as you know this is going to be one of the first interviews that will be made public. Could you tell our viewers and readers about the concept of Pakistani Nationalism and introduce it in terms of how exactly you see it?

I see Pakistani Nationalism as the only hope for Pakistan and all its people. You do not have to be associated with our underground groupings that once seemed impossible to join to be a Pakistani Nationalist.

To the World I will say if you are patriotic and put Pakistan before it you are automatically a Nationalist. If you believe and understand your responsibility to serve Pakistan and its people and make it the most prosperous and united nation in the world where all are treated equally and are not just opening your mouth to say it but are working to prove it then you are in every way a Pakistani Nationalist. If you reject corruption crime and terrorism and pledge to do nothing that will harm Pakistan and check every action to see how it benefits Pakistan then you are a Pakistani Nationalist. You do not need a license and be associated with PFF PNA PRS RSQ or PP. If your heart believes in these ideals then you are a Nationalist and one day Nationalists will rule Pakistan.

I have come to learn that there is much more than our lives that is to value. Without Pakistan and its people who gave us this identity it is as if our lives are automatically destroyed. Pakistan hai to hum hai. Remember that. We might seem like a bunch of rambling fanatics but inside we are just like you. We just want to see change and to see our Pakistan develop. Our loyalty is to the people of Pakistan

Join us and make Pakistan the greatest Nation!

Let this be a message to the World that we Pakistanis are ready to make our mark on history. Thank you Flora and I must tell you that you are a brilliant speaker. This interview will inspire many. Sorry for taking so much time. Wish you the best and I hope the lot of Pakistans Minorities improves and our efforts prove successful.

The patriotic speeches and articles must be rubbing off on me too then. Thank you.

——————————————————————————————————————————————————–

Let Floras words be proof that every Christian in Pakistan is as Patriotic if not more Patriotic than Muslims. Pakistan Zindabad first second and last! Everything is for Pakistan. All that matters is the future of Pakistan and its people. Every drop of blood in our veins is to develop Pakistan into the Greatest Nation the World has ever seen.

Wake Up Pakistan. We all have a responsibility to our motherland! Stop screwing around and understand your responsibility. Just raising a god damn flag over our roofs is not patriotism but doing something that affects Pakistan in a positive manner is patriotism. Wake Up Pakistani People and start working. Every action we take we must think of Pakistan. This land and its people are your responsibility! You have inherited a beautiful land. We can make it into the best if we work together for once. Pakistan Always Paindabad!

A point to ponder

Why we are at where we are - India-Pakistan-Mumbai

Irrespective of the nationality of the perpetrators (present and past), the 2 countries have no one else but their self to blame for all the miseries that has been affecting the countries. In spite of being a pioneer in several fields like Medicine, Mathematics, Agriculture, the subcontinent was one of the last regions to realize the concept of nationalism. This mistake has cost the region dearly right from the dusk of the Mughal Rule and the Maratha Rule till now.

The common masses were having a tough time under the monarchies. Small time kings and local cheiftans lived lavishly, living the common man suffering, as is common in a monarchy system of Governance. After the British made a colony out of us, some sense of nationalism dawned. Did it help in alleviating the Colonial misery? No! The next evil was religion based politics, where the 2 great religion of this world, Hinduism and Islam became subjects of politicization. Countless lives were lost to this religious divide and the imperialistic boot. Add to this, the oppression of lower caste people. Somehow we muddled our way to get freedom from the British. (I am still doubtful as to whether to thank or not for this, considering the situation)

Did we begin a nation building process immediately? No. Both the countries (I might suggest brother nations, although a lot of patriotic people on both sides would turn red to see this statement) embarked on a mission to get the State of Kashmir, the loss of which would mean, loss of face and loss of pride. Pride my foot!!! Which was why the country was under foreign yolk for a good 200 years?

Ok. Now the countries have fought a war and shown each other and to the world, that we still are immature and that Freedom was granted too easily and too early. If the struggle had been harder, the value of freedom would have been easily understood by the people and the democratic gift of Voting, would not have been squandered to put inefficient people @ the helms. Archaic laws, wrote during the British Raj would not be in practice now.

Coming back to the crux of the issue, how is Pakistan a fertile ground for breeding terrorism? And how is India responsible for the same and how is it becoming such an easy target for regular attacks. Li’l introspection would open the eyes and make people realize that they are responsible for the whole menace.

When does a person, get easily swayed by speeches of religious leaders? When does money for the family and promise of heaven invite youth to embrace terrorism under the false name of Martyrdom? How is terrorism perpetrated in a country unless the security is as weak as thin glass? How can the lapse in security be unnoticed by an entire country? Terrorism cannot happen unless there is small amount of local support/help. Local help will be there only if there are sections of population which feel marginalized and oppressed. Who is responsible for this? Elections in India are won not on the basis of good governance. It’s an open secret, that elections are won based on how populous the schemes of the politicians are. In my place, elections were won, because an idiot politician thought it wise to give people Color TV at my expense. The Tax Payer’s expense. Talking about the neighbor, why did they allow their country, whose founder, Jinnah, was one of the greatest icons of Secularism and Democracy, to be run by the army? Why were the leaders who were elected into office, even worse and corrupted when compared to the Indian Netas? Both the countries have failed to produce a crop of successful/charismatic leaders. The countries assumed that once the British left, there was no need for a leader. This has brought the countries to the current quagmire.

Now both the countries are again facing a bigger evil/bigger boot than the imperialistic British. A faceless evil called as Terrorism. This is the best chance that both the countries have got to produce charismatic Leaders to pull them out of this oblivion. Unless the countries pull up their socks and start running without tripping each other, dawn is never going to come and we will always be in the eternal dark-before-the-dawn state.

BLAME the POLITICIANS? (Holds true for both sides of the border)

As several predicted, the heat of the Mumbai attacks have visibly faded and people have started discussing about India-Eng test series and Ghajini. Nothing wrong, as life has to move on.

The Media during the aftermath of the Mumbai carnage was literally filled with candle light processions and other assorted signs condemning the act. Most were directed against Politicians. Some equated the politicians with terrorists or is it the otherway round? People were demanding instant action. Wanted heads to roll and people demanded accountability.

My entire question is regarding this. Do people have the rights to demand accountability? Polling is at 60 - 65 percent usually, which includes the illegal votes that forms a small percentage. Other than people whose income is taxed at the source, the rest hardly bother to pay the requisite taxes. Regarding public property, there is hardly any ownership from the general public, who tend to abuse it, rather than use it judiciously.

There is a lot of complaints about bribery, corruption in the Government establishment starting from the lowest clerk to the Ministerial berth. But one must realize that bribery and corruption is just like the market. Unless there is demand, there will be no supply. Corruption exists because people are ready to pay bribes. And Government servants(not a stereotype, but the sizable portion which does) demand bribes, because the number of people who are ready to pay up are more.

So when the general public has so much, stacked against them, do they (we) have the moral rights to demand accountability from politicians and Government officer?

These are your articles don?

You are right. Even Pakistan has to start doing some major thinking. I try not to discuss it but some major decisions need to be made and the people need to make those choices. Frankly we have no trust in the government in anyway. Our system is dead with corruption. Some day these government guys are going to suffer genocide for keeping the Pakistani people in misery and proverty purposely. In Pakistan there is specially a growing sense of rage if u let me call it over how the politicians are completely ignorant of the issues trhe people suffer day after day after day. I would simply go back and live in Pakistan if there was no idiocy of these corrupt politicians.

Bullshit loadshedding. Why did they not plan in advance. Did they not know that this was going to happen if power generation projects were not undertaken? It is all just mismanagement and corruption. They are there to steal.

And frankly i think indians are asking the same question about Mumbai. No matter who u guys believe committed the attack (We think it was'nt Islamic terrorists) it is no difficult task to assess that the city was underdefended and major problems came up. Police did not want to fire at Qasab even when the station was empty!!! According to your own media intelligence sharing was not there. They killed over 170 people while police commandos and everyone was simply hostage to them. A city such as mumbai? I used to really admire the place and still do but i will always be afraid to visit again seeing such a lack... i mean just 10 terrorists?
