It honestly seems like the army is not happy with Bajwa, regardless of Imran Khan's ouster. This drama could very well be the final straw, and we may see Bajwa being forced by his peers to either step down, or keep out of the limelight until his term ends.

Either way, Bajwa's legacy is now tarnished.

The best thing Bajwa can do right now is make a few phone calls and make sure SMQ wins the PM's chair. This would stabilize the situation.

What was his legacy when he forced (or, to use the more charitable term, 'took') an extension? A blatant manifestation of prioritization personal power over the institution's best interests.

What about the deterrence deficit with India that has only been rising at the sub-conventional/gray zone level? A simple analysis of Pakistanis killed by RAW-backed proxies and Indians killed by ISI-backed proxies will tell you everything you need to know. Nukes and artillery and worth much when your people are doing via other means and you have not developed any meaningful way to deter, respond, or raise the cost meaningfully for the perpetrators across the border.
