'We're going to be the majority soon!' Furious Muslim parents taunt New Jersey school board over religious holiday closure


Things got heated at a Board of Education meeting last week in Jersey City after officials decided not to close schools for the Muslim holiday Eid al-Adha.

Despite a number of Muslims showing up to the meeting to advocate that the school changes its schedule, officials denied their pleas, arguing that doing so on such short notice would cause “undue hardship” for the upwards of 10,000 parents who may not have a place to put their children for the day.

Some Muslims were so angry over the decision that one official called on security to “take charge” of the situation. According to video footage, at least one person was seen being escorted from the meeting.

“We feel alienated from the Board of Education, we feel alienated from this system,” Omar Abouelkhair told WNBC-TV.

“We’re going to be the majority soon,” warned another.

But it's not as though the school board was totally unaccommodating--Muslim students would still be allowed to take the day off as an excused religious absence. It's seems that wasn't enough for these students and parents, however.

The uproar that took place at the local Board of Education meeting comes as a new report from the Center for Immigration Studies shows that based on census data, Muslims are the fastest growing bloc of immigrants in America.

but let me get this right. they want the schools to close for Eid al-Adha. how is that fair to the non-Muslim students/parents, but heck if I was a kid I would be happy just to get a day off school

Why I remember a video of Dr Swamy about what happens when Muslims were in majority, just below majority and above majority.

It all makes sense now. Seems people are threatening the school board to force their religion on every single child studying in their school. School board has already given them an option of no penalty religion absenteeism then why they want it for whole school? Why should it be declared holiday?

Exactly why these people left their holier and perfect places in the native religious countries and settled in america? What attracted them their? Is it the religion of the land or the culture or the brightening advancement (because of open mindedness ) of America?
If you want to ask something, the you need to be humble. There is no need to threaten to get your demands fulfilled.

By saying we will be majority soon, indicates that these people are waiting to get into majority and then they will change the fabric of the society to suit their agenda. This is a very dangerous mindset. These kind of thoughts are not constructive. Even though if you become majority, one should not taunt for it.

Don't tell me , Ask Modi to end all religious holidays in India. Once it be done then lecture us on how to tackle religious take over. . My logic is not strange, If their is sizable amount of muslim students are being educated in that school then their is nothing wrong of announcing holiday or conduct some extra session for Muslim students to compensate the loss of study.. Everyone should allowed to celebrate their festival. It went wrong when others try to dictate situations.

Secularism has a price to Pay...India is already paying...Europe is started paying the price for it..US paid the price, but never ever realized it...Sooner or later although i do not want to see it, US will pay the price...Although i hope it will not.

No place is perfect, such sarcasm reflects your foolishness.. can you claim that your home country is better then USA in term of living standard? threatening is wrong if i were with that guy I would have advised him to avoid such statements. Its simple sometime people say something and at very next moment they realize that mistake but media got point of exaggeration.. Its impossible that less then 1% of American muslims would become majority any sooner.. Its obvious that the statement is completely illogical and suicidal.
