The Uighur culture has been slowly exterminated since 1949. Their population went from being 96% of Xinjiang population to less than 45% today. Their farms in Xinjiang are being taken over, their homes destroyed and they are not allowed to practise Islam. These are not terrorists. Almost all the oil and gas wealth of Xinjiang has gone to immigrant Han population, while the indigenous Uighurs continue to live in poverty. The central Chinese government has some token programs to supposedly improve Uighur life, but there is so much racism amongst Han Chinese towards the Uighurs that they are effectively
trapped in the lowest social circles.

I like China's friendship with the muslim world, but China is doing it not because they like muslims but for it's own self interests. There is nothing wrong with that. Everybody works for their own self-interest and it is good that Chinese interests coincide with muslim interests so often.

I know many muslims want to ignore the Uighur situation because it is inconvenient to talk about it, but in this case China is doing the wrong thing. The Chinese government is so heavy handed they won't even let an old Uighur woman, Rabiya Kadeer, show a movie of her life and give a talk in Australia. Why is the Chinese government so afraid to let an old woman talk?

It is NOT an Uyghir problem, and by zeroing in on a particular ethnic group just because of a few bad apples (as well as FOREIGN EUROPEAN-AMERICANS) is just what the US does with "RACIAL PROFILING". It does NOT work! Notice how throughout this pre-mediated (foreign directed) terror attack, PRC did not once attack the Uyghirs -- instead the provided PROTECTION.

Perhaps they face discrimination, but they also receive FAVORABLE treatment. And from what I gather (and witnessed) is that many choose not to receive top-notch education. Others knowing they can get away with crime (since the government gives preferential treatment) commit petty crimes like theft. They have a nasty reputation for theft, gangs, violent attacks, etc.

During my time in China I saw MANY Uyghirs, they have restaurants throughout the nation and often sell stuff/food in the open market. I did not notice or sense or witnessed any discrimination anymore than is in the West.

Nearly ALL of them were friendly and decent looking. So this seems like another "Falungong", i.e. foreign operation. And those who make those baseless accusations are often Whites (whom are much more guilty themselves) or Arabs.

Arabs have a prejudice towards Asians (including Indians). I've noticed this myself, and my Arab friends actually ADMIT this as well. They also have an arrogant view that China and Asians are anti-islam.

But like Indians and Pakistanis who grew up abroad, Arabs who grew up abroad don't have these bad tendencies. Look here, our societies have been interacting with each other for centuries without problem. This all started with nasty FALSE RUMORS. 1. My friend, being in Australia and influenced by western news and critics everyday, I understand your feelings. But, most of times what u heard about China is just one sided story, and may not be true. If you ever have a chance to visit China, especially Xianjiang, u will know what I'm talking about.

2. It's not the Chinese government who doesn't like this movie, it is 1.3 Billion Chinese People who are angry about it, including Australian Chinese. This movie, if u ever have a chance to watch it, u will know it basically tells another one sided story and full of incorrect information. Actually the Chinese consulate (or embassy) officially called the festival directors and told them to remove the movie.

Also, the Australian ambassador to China was called up and admonished, so it is an officail Chinese government protest.

I'm glad to keep your interested so we can have this conversation. All three you have mentioned are unfortunate puppets. Let me briefly outline them for you:

(1) Colin Powell -- he is forever stained with being held responsible for the WMD lies that led to Gulf War I and Gulf War II. He sold his soul to the devil for a few shekels.

S-2, I don't have a problem with you. Even though I display the Pakistani & Chinese flags, you may have noticed I know way more than someone from mainland China would ever know about USA. In fact I grew up here and love it. What I have disdain for is how we treat our fellow human beings.

We have all sorts of amateurs and many experts from around the globe, of different races, religions, ideology, and beliefs. We learn from each other. My strength is that I defend the little guy, the victims, the weak. I've travelled many places and met many different people. This is what I've come to understand:

Everyone wants to be treated nicely and fairly. Everyone wants to be allowed happiness. Everyone is human with the same set of dreams and fears and emotions.

I'm fighting the propaganda war against the weak and those striving to make their lives better. In a typical blog the active:passive ratio of viewers is approximately 1:100. Say for example in a typical day there's 1,000 commentors then there's about 100,000 viewers. What we do here is fight to open-up people's minds. The more we share here, the more we understand our 'enemies', the more we associate them with a name & face, the less we fight in the real world.

Our discussion is based on that. I only used you as an example, I have nothing personal against you. You see how people from the "West" who are ignorant (and biased) about the Xinjiang incident (which was foreign orchestrated) --- they need to realize that it is they who treat their own minorities much, MUCH worse.
