NEW DELHI: In another controversial statement, Samajwadi Party MP Azam Khan said on Saturday that Muslims in the country are being punished for their decision to not go migrate to Pakistan after the partition in 1947.

"Why our ancestors did not go to Pakistan? Well, they considered India as their nation. This is our fault. Maulana Azad, Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru, Sardar Patel and even Bapu had appealed Muslims to not migrate to Pakistan," he said when asked about his views on growing incidents of mob lynching.

Khan, an MP from Rampur in Uttar Pradesh, claimed that Muslims have not been able to live a dignified life in the country. "We have been living a very disgusting life since 1947, and we are very ashamed of it," he said.

He also alleged that the BJP government in Uttar Pradesh is fabricating land dispute cases against him because he managed to defeat BJP candidate Jaya Prada in the Lok Sabha elections.

The state government recently put Khan's name on anti-land mafia portal after several complaints were registered against him for allegedly grabbing lands in Rampur, his home district.

Khan, a former state Cabinet minister, is known for his controversial remarks. During the Lok Sabha elections, he said Jaya Prada wears khaki underwear, a reference to her alleged affiliation with the RSS.

"I won the election against powerful people despite their several tactics. I am being punished for that mistake. The Rampur district magistrate went to counting stations wearing a saffron shirt and harassed voters. Still, I emerged victorious," he said.

نئی دلی (ڈیلی پاکستان آن لائن) بھارت کی سیاسی جماعت سماجوادی پارٹی کے سینئر اور مسلمان رہنماﺅں میں سب سے بڑا نام اعظم خان نے بھارت میں مسلمانوں پر ہجومی تشدد کے بڑھتے واقعات پر تشویش کا اظہار کرتے ہوئے کہا ہے کہ 1947 میں تمام مسلمانوں کو پاکستان چلے جانا چاہیے تھا ، اب مسلمان بھارت میں جہاں بھی ہوں گے انہیں اس غلطی کی سزا بھگتنی پڑے گی۔

گﺅ رکشکوں کے ہاتھوں مسلمانوں کی بڑھتی ہوئی شہادتوں پر اپنے ایک بیان میں اعظم خان نے کہا ’ ہمارے آباﺅ اجداد 1947 میں پاکستان کیوں نہیں گئے، اب جو ہوگا اسے سہنا ہوگا۔‘اعظم خان نے مسلمانوں کو بھارت میں رکنے کا ذمہ دار مولانا ابوالکلام آزاد، جواہر لال نہرو، سردار ولبھ بھائی پٹیل اور مہاتما گاندھی کو قرار دیا اور کہا کہ ان لوگوں سے سوال پوچھا جانا چاہیے ، انہی کے کہنے پر مسلمان ہندوستان میں رک گئے تھے کیونکہ انہوں نے مسلمانوں کی سکیورٹی کا وعدہ کیا تھا۔

ہجومی تشدد کے باعث ہونے والی اموات کے بارے میں اعظم خان نے کہا کہ یہ ایک ایسی سزا ہے جو 1947 سے مسلمانوں کو مل رہی ہے، وہ جہاں بھی چلے جائیں انہیں یہ جھیلنا پڑے گا۔

اعظم خان کا یہ بیان ریاست بہار میں گائے چوری کے شبے میں تین لوگوں کی ہجوم کے ہاتھوں موت کے بعد سامنے آیا ہے۔ بہار کے بنیا پور میں گاﺅں والوں نے تین مسلمانوں کو تشدد کرکے شہید کردیا تھا، اس کے علاوہ بھی جمعہ کے روز پورے بھارت میں ہجومی تشدد کے کئی واقعات سامنے آئے تھے۔

The horrible situation they are in, they will do whatever they can to protect them, obviously when you as a community is targeted by govt supported mobs, you have very less or no options available.

The situation Indian muslims are in, they will avail every opportunity to satisfy Hindutva ego, via criticising Pakistan or other fellow muslims.

Simple words. They are OPPRESSED and helpless. The entire govt apparatus is working against them. I can understand their behaviour.
