Muslim woman removed from flight

.
A typical tactic that you employ.

Ulte baans Bareili ko?

It's happening right in front of our eyes. You have managed to turn this thread into a debate about Chinese stance on the Iraq war.

There was no "badmouthing the 'evil white man' in front of Chinese" either, except in your imagination. Let's just say I have never found you very strong in comprehension.

"Europeans will again be the backwater of the world they always were."

Doesn't seem to be confined to racists or white supremacists. Nope. No comprehension problems.

It's crystal clear.

.
China has a non-interference policy, yet we still stopped it going through the UN, even though we didn't need to.

That didn't matter much, did it? The million Iraqis still died (mostly in sectarian violence though, to be fair).

So you are happy about a bureaucratic "victory" that still left a million dead and had no impact on the ground?

How about India, what did you guys do? You guys don't have a non-interference policy remember. :azn:

But we are still not a great power.

Great power - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

.
BTW, has anyone checked the figures on how many people are deplaned in a month on various grounds like security etc? I am sure there will be many more incidents apart from the ones that make the headlines because of the Islam angle

That would be a useful statistic to consider and entirely relevant to the topic.

I hope you can find some info and share it here.

Not really. I am in a debate with a Chinese on this issue.

"Europeans will again be the backwater of the world they always were."

I see your pain.

It has nothing to do with the "evil white man" as your wild imagination made it out to be.

The center of gravity is turning East. Slowly but surely.

Europe will again be an outpost it was through most of the history. Tough luck if you have issues with that. Though I doubt you really have any issues.

And it has nothing to so with their skin color or even with them actually. It is just the reality of demographics and economics.

.

You could have done something buddy, you don't have a non-interference policy.

What about Syria and Bahrain? How about Israel, should mighty India intervene there too? How about Somalia?

The world is full of moral grey areas. Our non-interference policy stops us from having to make judgements on those issues.

India on the other hand doesn't have a non-interference policy, you are welcome to send your forces all over the world according to your moral code. I look forward to it.

You are mistaken about this.

India has always opposed outside intervention in the affairs of any country.

Of course, we also oppose arming the Darfur genocide in Sudan and so many dictatorships in so many countries as well, in the endless pursuit of resources.

Germany and Japan are great powers too, so are Britain and France.

So what is your point?

OK Vinod, just for you. In 2003, the PRC sailed five of her imaginary Carrier Battle Groups to Iraq and said no, we want to be the ones with $14 trillion debt, not you. :azn:

And just for the record Vinod, are you happy with the fact that a million Iraqi civilians are dead over non-existant WMD's?

And why intervene in Iraq, and not in say, Israel? Or Syria, or Bahrain... or maybe Georgia when Russia invaded it in 2008? What would you say, if I told you that there was this one country who starved more people to death than the rest of the world combined every year, would you want to intervene there?

I think our non-interference policy is a good one, saves us from having to make a moral judgement on whether the Syrians are doing something wrong or the Israelis are doing something wrong, and do business with them both.

I see.

My answer. No.

As much as I won't want to interfere when someone is making the great leap and forcing people to make iron in the backyard. ;)

The dance is fascinating.

The whole debate was about the evil racist white man and 'white supremacy' and your conclusion was that "with the rise of Asia and Africa", Europe will again become a backwater. Not racism, not white supremacy, but "Europe".

It's the old 'Asian brotherhood' v/s the evil white Europeans.

Very entertaining to watch the Indians play both sides of it.

As usual, Indian trolling derailed the thread. Now its about Indian power and Chinese power.

As I said, your ingrained attitudes make it impossible for you to follow what is being discussed.

Let me try to make it even simpler.

I said that the white supremacist ideas are a comparative recent novelty of the last few centuries, the colonial period.

Now that the balance is again shifting back to the East, Europe will again be just an outpost. There will be no fuel in the claims of the white supremacists'.

You can chose to draw whatever conclusions you want. I can't make it any simpler.

And I can't undo what has been ingrained over decades. Its just not worth the effort anyways.

In fact I don't recall any of us even talking of "evil racist white man and 'white supremacy' ". These are just your imaginations, just like someone imagined a terrorist out of this hapless woman on the plane.

No stats available, but there certainly are incidents like the below which never make it to the debate.. gets you to wonder if its just the victim mentality at play in incidents about this woman or the imams that were recently taken off the plane

"Europeans will again be the backwater of the world they always were."

Crystal clear statement about "Europeans" and their supposedly rightful place in the world compared to Asians and Africans.

And the dance continues...

And a one and a two, ...

In fact I don't recall any of us even talking of "evil racist white man and 'white supremacy' ". These are just your imaginations, just like someone imagined a terrorist out of this hapless woman on the plane.

The thread is there for people to read, about European racism, honorary whites, etc. etc.

No one else has complained. Not the person I had that interesting debate with.

Who is complaining: Tu kaun main khwamkhah. ;)

PS: Everything we discussed was based on real facts. No one can argue with facts.

Though I understand you have issues differentiating facts from opinions and worse "rhetoric".

.

We need to look at full statistics to compare numbers.

In many of the cases, including the ones you listed, the passenger was either flagged by customs officials (i.e. professionals) or had some article of clothing/personal belonging which contravened regulations. In both these cases, there is no debate. We all acknowledge that heightened security is warranted. The debate here is when there doesn't seem to be any cause.

.
OK, are we debating the need for civilians to be vigilant at all?

Should all security be just left to the "professionals"?

Are civilians not responsible for being aware of security and suspicious behavior and people?

These questions are irrespective of the merits or otherwise of this particular incident.

I think the answer is obvious. Civilians' awareness of and contribution to public security is warranted. It is the excess vigilantism that can be the issue.

.
Of course civilians should be vigilant.

Most (western) countries have terrorism hotlines where people can report suspicious behavior and then professionals take over the investigation.

In extreme cases of urgency, a civilian may make a citizen's arrest. However, they do open themselves up to a lawsuit if their hunch proves false.
