Muslim village head talks about Hindu ancestry

What about minorities who eat jhatka meat?
You can do jhatka or phatka what ever in your home.
No body will drag out from the home and kill you.
Pakistan is a Muslim mijority country so main target of the food chains are Muslims.
Thats why they write halal on their food products.
This happens every where not only Pakistan.

.
I have no idea but I am glad we are not debating over it in India, it's another hot potato which might test our secular credentials.

Actually, last place I worked, it did become an issue. A Sikh boy refused to eat halal meat. And quite rightly so. It should not have become a standard to eat halal.

.
Indians have to start seeing this Beef issue not from religious point of view but from the International politics.

India is having 450 Million livestock according to 2013 reports . But are Indian Cattle herders getting International prices , be it the diary sector or meat export sector ?
Beef issue is both religious as well as a cultural issue, the OP is a testament of that. It's just some fringe elements who indulge in this kind of provocation and reaction.

The point is that in India, after all of us, my own self not least, have exhausted our vocal chords about the quiet but increasing pressure on minorities, starting with the Muslims, most food chains in India are halal by default. Pork is almost impossible to get, as is beef. So isn't that imposition of a cultural norm by path of least resistance?

It was just a simple question, there is no need to be aggressive about it.

Quran says to aviod fasaad and fitna so does Rig vedas.

These issues can be sorted out just all Indians have to work together.

The same thing as Muzaffarnagar. Hindus and Muslims fight, the lower-caste Muslims get killed (Ansari is a julaha). How I hate caste and religious politics and politicians.
We ansaris are not necessarily low caste. In fact we have never heard of low caste term being used for us. It is an Indian habit however to label vocal or anti India groups as low caste or try to paint a picture of them as aggressive or mistreated by muslims themselves despite having a rich history and a very liberal outlook to the world. If anyone supports secularism in its best forms it is the Ansaris.

Many Ansaris did migrate to Karachi however and a lot are seen as sympathetic to Pakistan. Hence the slandering campaign against us. We are firangi mahalis and we were given land by Mughal emperors.

@t topic. He has to please the Hindus. Raising the question of their rights is always a problem for these so called patriotic Muslims. They have done much damage to the cause of Islam by ignoring the rights and plight of muslims in Indian occupied parts.

I've never understood why its difficult to get pork in Maharashtra. Mumbai and Pune. Jamshedpur we used to get nice fresh pork. Here there are max a few shops (invariably Christian run) that sell it. Otherwise the processed frozen stuff in supermarkets. The meat I mean. Not the cold cuts like salamis , bacon, and ham.

Pork is my favorite meat by a long margin. Mutton comes next. Then seafood. Chicken is non veg paneer.

Another moment when we appreciate our freedom, with nice sauce & chatni

well i would like to see indians go to israel and complain.

they too eat "halal".

the main reason for halal is it is less cruel to animals:

For meat to be halal, the animal should be killed with one clean sweep of the knife.

In both Muslim and Jewish religious slaughter, the act of slitting the throat stuns the animal, they say, and there is no delay between stun and subsequent death.

I am getting your point.
you want india is hindu mijority country so food chains should offer non halal food also.
its depend on food chain handling companies how they want do the business.maybe only non halal will reduce their profit.
But they can open halal and non halal outlets if their is huge demand.
Here in Bahrain all international foods chains are by default using halal.both Muslims and non Muslims are going to eat there.
But their are lot of other restaurants offering non halal also including pork and cats.
Non halal food is easily available.

I apologise. There was no intention to insult.

You should know that these terms were used by an Ansari, who is also a prominent member of the pasmanda movement. After reading your post, I understand the sensitivities, and shall not use this particular term again.

Truly so, Doc. Except that some years ago, when my teeth were really in bad shape, pork became a major problem (I hate chicken and fish, so when in India, this more or less makes me vegetarian), because the small fibres kept getting stuck in the teeth. <sigh>

What kind of doneness level do south-asians prefer when it comes to beef steaks ?

I can only say for myself: medium on some days, usually; rare on a very few days (dared not use the 'rare' in the context). Mostly medium; the way some westerners wanted 'rare' was a bit off-putting, actually. And only with a good wine, or parathas and beer if kababs.
