Muslim states seek UN action on West's "islamophobia"

And what connection do you form between the rights and the immigration of people? According to you there's discrimination against your community here in Europe. But does that stop Pakistanis from migrating?

Normally, I would have left this comment between you and the Indians, but you must admit that the Kingdom has worst records on Human Rights.

Name one country where there isn't any human rights violations! There is more human rights violations in india then in Saudi Arabia!

India is full of female infanticide, caste system, etc

BTW, i was replying to Optimus who said OIC is hypocritical! PM Manmohan should have addressed this issue to King of Saudi Arabia!

.
Yes there is rising discrimination against Muslims. One can present 50 MCQs that show extremist acts committed by people of other religions.

Terrorists have no religion.

i agree
but only those(terrorists) of Islamic faith- do it in the name of religion. and they are killing people all around the globe in the name of religion .so you cant blame the rest of the world for being Islamophobic.....(besides phobic=fear of )...... you cant take away a persons fear by passing a law or resolution.......it is now the responsiblity of Muslims to remove the fear- which i believe no Muslim is striving for or will be able to achieve by belittling people of other faith......

most Muslims(infact all) believe that their faith is supreme and all others are just non-believers........apart from this they also have this tendency to consider themselves more Islamic than thy neighbor........
only
1)when this changes and they learn to respect and accept the equality of all religions (since all religions end up preaching the same thing ...only by a different means)...
2)when Muslims themselves go to war with people who demean their religion by comiting crimes in the name of Islam ....only then will the world be rid of Islamophobia

My dear man, that is being a holier than thou concept you are talking. I am aware that the Indians also have a lot of problems in their society and it is not like they are spotless. Even here in Europe amongst us these things happen and it is a universal thing.

The point is what government takes as an action. Here we take action. I don't know about India, but despite their rather poor infrastructure and rights facilities, they do make news sometimes in upholding rights. I assure you that the surveys that we conduct are neutral and are for every country irrespective of what faith they follow. Since you raised the question on your neighbours, I welcome you to come to any international forum and ask whose record is better; Saudi or India.

Certainly Saudi has a worse record. It only is second in the world to North Korea. You think that these are conspiracies? People who escape from these countries, tell this to neutral rights bodies. Those in exile those who are not safe in their own countries come and tell this to rights.

I don't understand why you get so worked up about matters pertaining to the Kingdom. Many Pakistani members here have posted links that prove so. Look them up. Whether Amnesty International, Human Rights Commission or any UN sponsored research, everyone places the Kingdom much much below your neighbours. You're welcome to any of these offices to check it out yourself.

Also from personal experience, whenever I have obtained visa for visiting India, I am not asked to remove my locket (religious) and have it thrown in a trash can unlike Saudi.

I understand that your country and Indians are political rivals in South Asia and don't get along, but that doesn't have anything to do with Riyadh's terrible record. All other countries in its region are much more freer and welcoming which is itself a worthy example for the Kingdom.

Is it really "islamophobia" if they are really trying to kill you.?
Apparently some extremist members associate it with the "Right to expression". You know, I think we seriously need to amend our Constitutions in our part of the world because the way I see it, we might end up dead because of our own constitutional liberties.

They are trying to silence criticism and shield a religion desperately in need of reform from any critical voices.

An insidious but obvious attempt of coercion that sadly might even further the trends of silencing critics of Islam here in Europe that is already underway(because in Muslim countries criticism is already basically impossible). Best example is Great Britain that has already confirmed to Sharia law in many instances.

We must be very, very watchful against the misuse of the UN by these devious dictatorships who have hijacked the UN Human Right Counsel and turned it into an abomination, advocating the very opposite of what it was intended to do (e.g. undermining free speech which is a Human right)

Oh and there is no such thing as "Islamophobia"(a phobia is an irrational fear of something), because it is not an unreasonable fear to be afraid and/or critical of literalistic Islamic ideology.. Look at Saudi-Arabia, Iran, Sudan, Somalia etc...
I'm not talking about terrorism necessarily here, but Sharia law, which is barbaric and medieval and on the rise not only in currently moderate Muslim countries.

Their might be "Muslimophobia" and it is wrong to blame a group so diverse as Muslims (who to a large extent are not literalistic, hopefully..) collectively, but to be afraid of the ideological elements of Islam is not unreasonable, but on the contrary pretty sensible.

Unfortunately the UN has been a dysfunctional anti-Western forum for decades. I really, really wish the UN would relocate to Caracas where it belongs.

Don't tell them that, their martyrdom videos tend to talk about Allah the merciful and their heavenly reward they are about to receive. And yes all major religions have extremists.
