Calling your Mansa Mausa/Mausi as the richest person of that time still makes sense. But if you think some obscure ruler of Mali can be richer than nations who built entire temple complexes out of gold and jewels then you and the person who conducted the survey both need to go and take a hike.

India, Persia, Mesopotamia have been the centre of civilisations and also the major trade routes and trade transit points throughout history. These countries also had far more resources than Mali. If you think that a ruler of Mali can be more rich than the men who ruled over these civilisations then I have nothing more to say. The Mughals had mausoleums decorated with gold leaf, jewels etc. The Nawab of Hyderabad had an entire kitchen full of gold utensils and cutlery.

I also believe in aliens......this is a common Indian thing, I have friends who used to support it. One time, a friend went as far as telling one of our friends from TX that his name Jay was an Indian name and it originated from India thousands of years ago when the Indians came to Latin America (which isn't true historically). When the reality is far from that, his name was given to him per a mythical bird and the American Indian call it the JayHawk.
