Yes humans generally start talking at the age of 3, doesn't make them "Elligible" to be in a relationship. The man who died was in a "relationship" with a minor.

Pedos should be dealt harshly... but by the state not mobs on rampage lynching and gang raping and killing people over "love jihad","beef" and other nonsensical stuff... with the states overt/tacit approval or encouragement.

Villagers in Jharkhand’s Gumla district allegedly tied a 20-year-old Muslim man to a tree and thrashed him for hours for being in love with a Hindu woman, leading to his death, police said on Friday.

The man – identified as Mohammad Shalik, a resident of Raza Colony in Gumla town – was allegedly in a relationship with a Hindu woman of a nearby village, Soso, for more than a year, sources said.

The girl allegedly called the boy to meet her at Gumla town for the Ram Navami procession on Wednesday. Fearing trouble, Shakil initially refused but finally went to meet her on a scooty and dropped her home, police said.

It is then that a group of neighbours saw Shalik and surrounded him, tied him to a tree and assaulted him for hours, the woman was quoted as saying by police. He succumbed to his injuries on Thursday.

Police said they arrested three people and lodged an FIR against unnamed people. “Though investigation is on, we were told by the villagers that the boy had been asked earlier not to meet the girl and never visit the village,” said Gumla superintendent of police Chandan Kumar Jha.

The incident comes amid rising communal tensions in the state following a slew of controversial initiatives in neighbouring Uttar Pradesh. Activists have cried foul against Jharkhand’s decision to create anti-romeo squads and seal illegal slaughterhouses, saying that the moves unfairly targeted the Muslim community.

Earlier this week, a Muslim man was lynched by a group of alleged cow protection vigilantes in Rajasthan’s Alwar when he was transporting cattle. A group of men also forced a couple to shave their heads in Uttar Pradesh, one of a similar string of alleged moral policing incidents.

Shalik’s murder triggered tensions in Gumla town but police thwarted any violence by deploying hundreds of personnel. “The situation is under control,” Jha added.

Shalik’s father Mohammad Minhaj said two people came to his house on Wednesday night to tell him that his son was being beaten and tied to rope at Soso village. “I informed police immediately. When we reached at the village, we found my son was critically injured,” he said. He was taken to Sadar hospital immediately. The hospital authority referred him to Rajendra Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS) in Ranchi but he died on the way.

That's just your assumption, wishful thinking in fact. Pakistanis go out of their way to assume that everything has to do with anti Muslim bigotry and that Indian Muslims have it the worst! Lynchings,gang rapes,discrimination all these are everyday happenings in India. Whether you choose to close your eyes, wouldn't change the reality.

As for Indian Muslims, I personally have no long lost love for them.

They aren't related to me ethnically neither culturally... and them being against the creation of Pak and at the forefront of maligning Pak to prove their loyalty to indian state, further makes them more "unfavourable".

Indian society is seeing a change (not a positive one) and if I think as indias enemy... I should rather be happy about it.

But as a sane human being... india is going to the dogs, while Pak is rising from the state crap initiated by Zia ul haq or atleast trying.

The only difference is that we have never seen large scale violence like India... nor do we have such a fractured society.

We have our faults, acts of terrorism but not public insanity or such deep rooted hatred that can force us to gangrape 9 month pregnant women, pull their babies out and dismember them, rape children or kill thousands...

The article fails to mention that the girl was only 15years old, a minor. This is hardly a Hindu Muslim issue. The man definitely deserved a thrashing, however his death is unfortunate.

if thats ture then there is SOME justification. 15 is too young to be in a relationship. but a 5 year age difference in relationships is not uncommon, e.g. a 29 year old and a 24 year old sounds fine.

Well then he should have waited for the girl to turn 18, and then pursued her.

Let's flip your example, its ok for a 20 year woman and a 30 year man to be in a relationship right? But would it be ok for a 20 year old man to be in a relationship with a 10 year old kid? Its the same 10 year age gap after all?
