India is the country where two religions and it's followers are fighting for ever. RSS Hindus versus Muslims. RSS has clear teachings about the nature of Islam, and has always seen Islam and Muslims as evil people. Christians too are not spared. So, yes, unless India outgrows religiousness, it will go back to the 1700s. Not that our neighbouring countries are any better. Hope Internet revolutionizes all the Jihadi momins and RSS karyakarta to become humans and make India grow as a peaceful nation.

My information/experience is only limited to the three major cities of Pakistan(Isl/Rwp, Lahore and Karachi) where I have moved in a lot of social circles with varying degree of economic background. Generally, I have come across more men who are more on the educated AND religious side. Not the jahil mob lynching or women beating types which is now a common stereotype. I have also come across a few odd females who are educated and devotedly religious, i.e. they are willingly religious and actually take interest in Islam.

That being said, vast majority of males and females are only a chance away to do whatever they want to do. They'll run away with a non-Muslim if they can get away with it. They'll commit fornication or adultery if they can get away with it. There's also a widespread use of alcohol and cocaine. In my honest opinion, based on my own experiences and experiences of those I know, the number of women involved in debauchery and hedonism exceeds that of men, not by a huge margin, but a moderately significant margin.

This is what I my information consists of in regards to the Pakistanis in Pakistan and moral degradation of society. I have no idea about the Punjab country side, south Punjab, interior Sindh, KPK and Balochistan.
