We Hindus behave like ostriches when it comes to cows. What do we think happens to cows whose milk we have been drinking all our lives and pouring on statues, after the cow is past its useful age? If the cow is not living a life of retirement in our house, or not being cared for, it must be getting slaughtered. The only way to really ban cow slaughter is to ban dairy.
