Music ? or Vulgarity with soft P()rn ?

So guys I don't think this topic is been discussed here before , technically its a bit odd topic for defense forum but as this forum is open to people across the Globe , it will be good to know what people think about it .

The question is why the Music in America or mostly western countries and now even India is becoming so pathetic , Disgusting , Vulgar , cussing , abusive words like ( Mother fcuker , Pu$$y , D!ck , B|_|tt , etc , and videos are nothing but soft por|\|s . now when i compare Songs to the songs here in South Asia , middle East and even Old Indian songs the Lyrics are delicate and beautiful , a lot of songs where a lover describing his loved one in a decent and delicate way, by using beautiful words , expressing his/her feelings in a more sophisticated way , but in west a song contains less words or music more pornographic material and cussing words , and more weirdly people like that music but how ?
its more of a scientific fact now that Music plays a very crucial role in anyone's personality , so based on that , why Singers male/female still use such words and visuals in their songs which they know will be watched by teen age young kids ?

Second question is that Singers mostly active in social media and against sexist's and misogyny but they themselves objectify man and women in their videos ? half naked girls or boys dancing , performing weird sexual acts on beats or commands , i think that does more harm to one's personality than good, and Music is suppose to be tool for releasing stress and calm one soul , but I wont lie that when i watch songs of Nikki , Taylor , rihanna , Eminem , you name it , it just gives me nothing but a headache .

So what do you think the Problem is with Western and now even India music ? why it changes it course for a decent more delicate lyrics to Pu$$y and D!ck ?
I am not tagging people here, because I want everyone to participate in this thread , and please this is not thread for your Favorite song , so please don't go off-topic , this thread is about the Songs that is full of Vulgarity and explicit stuff how its bad for Teen ager's and society in General , and why this is become Normal in our world and society to let our kids , younger siblings to let them watch such songs and later it somehow influence their personality ? .

Buddy, I agree with you here. Am a jazz and blues man meself and absolutely deplores the current state of popular music in the US and the West in general. The issue is not creativity because I do see creative impulses even in rap. But rather, it is the artists' belief that if vulgarities are not used, absurdly somehow the song is not 'creative' or 'edgy'. This is about one-upmanship.

Arijit's songs are my Jam , the man's voice is amazing and there no sign of abusive language ... i don't give a damn about raps and rock ... btw i seriously loathe rappers , their music is the most abusive

Long ago , i saw a Video about the same problem and transformation of Music in America , compared to 70's ,80's and even early 90's the songs does have more music in them , compared to now when I want to release my stress and want to hear some songs .. I can't even sing those songs out loud in my home haha but I agree with you here and a further question , what effect do you think it does on teens ? specially the explicit contents in videos.

Once upon a time, people with melodious voice, with talent and with ability to compose were called artists but now every tom, dick and harry is becoming an "artist" or "musician" with all the IT gadgets!
So, anything and everything is considered "music" even trash can lids banging together is counted as music

So it is no longer a delicate art with talent but junk crap of attention seeking and frustration yielding sword

There is no denying the subtle psychological effects on people in general, not just teens in particular. However, because teens are still psychologically growing, we are, and should be, more concerned with those effects than we could be concerned on adults. In my opinion, the negative effects such as desensitizing the teen on issues far outweighs the positive effects like educating or enlightenment.

I read. Books allows the person the ability to take breaks from learning whatever it is and ponder what was learned. Listening compels quicker decision making. Watching have the highest compelling force. The phrase 'if you blink you missed it' definitely applies. The decision you make in regarding what you just watched or listened or just read are not always the best, but at least with a book, you can always return to previous pages or take another book with a different perspective on the same subject. This is why book learning make a more critical thinker than someone who learns mainly from watching or in this age -- quick glances from Internet based social media.

Both kind of music was always there, in past the sober music was brought on media and other version was played in private parties. With advent of internet, people forgot whats should remain private and what should become public. So In order to catch the attention, anything and everything that gets attention is been put on public media. The tingling funny bone of public reacts to it and thus it becomes a hit and then what is hit, it sets the trend....

This is what making not only music, but entire media industry going down the hill.

Human societies in the past have degenerated into animalistic immorality as they advanced ... They lost their power as Rome degenerated but their influence was local and as far as their domain. They have always been replaced by another nation.

The only difference today is the moral decay is global and everyone is going down in the gutter together.

To say it is the West exclusively is an unfair comment... It's the entire world culture that is slowly being chipped away at... In a collective manner.
