Musharraf Ki Yaad AAyi Us Kay Janay Kay Baad

Oh really, had he not allowed those bafoons back, I'm pretty sure your argument would have been "elections were rigged and not free and fair"

The purpose was to hold free and fair elections acceptable to all.

It is up to the people to decide and elect individuals. Rightly, as Gen. Musharraf said the people must learn to vote for the right person.

Oh please! As if he cared about what the people said (or what I say for that matter!). He was all too happy arresting 4,500 people in his emergency, sacking 60 judges of the superior judiciary, getting himself re-elected for a fresh term from a senate whose tenure was a few weeks short of ending etc.

He unleashed a bunch of 'chorz' by giving them a clean chit. And don't forget, the majority of NRO beneficiaries were bureaucrats, army personnel etc. The point is, your 'HERO' did what suited him, not what was in line with his so called inspiration, "Pakistan First". He legalised corruption.

In our political setup, there are only a hand full of good people. The reason is that military dictatorships did not let our system mature. They came, they plundered and did not leave "jab tak dhakkay maar ke nahi nikala". If there was no resistance, Musharraf would probably still be in power and it would be because of people like you. People who call him "Sir Musharraf" and don't really think much at all.

They see cell phones and tv channels and nice roads but fail to realise how he damaged the state. He defaced our constitution beyond repair. We are still trying to fix what he did (forget that even! we are still trying to fix what zia did!) He sacked 60 judges in a blink of an eye and we know why, it was because they were sticking their noses into Musharraf's corruption. The steel mills, missing persons etc. He banned Geo (so don't give me that cr@p about media freedom.. please.. save it!) He turned our society into a consumer society when we should have been thinking about making investments by unleashing shaukat aziz on us. (you probably think shaukat is awesome too.. im sure of it!) He did not do anything for power generation, and as soon as he left we magically had a 4500MW deficit (thats around 20% short btw and did not happen over night as much as you would like to believe).

But then again, why am I even trying explaining to you? You Musharraf supporters don't believe in Democracy. You just believe in the 'danda' and hijacking the state at the barrel of the gun. You will probably come up with a dozen rhetorics, naras or empty statements about the CJ (who was responsible for nullifying the NRO - FYI).

I hope you open your eyes soon and see the value of democracy. If there is no democracy, there will be no way for people to rise to the top. All there will be is army generals ruling on their own whims.

.
SSGPA, you are a nice individual but why do you take Musharaf's statement as absolute truth. If Musharaf says that he is not involved in BB case >> you agree.
If he says Pakistan first >> you agree
etc

You are not being rational at all.
Facts are considered valid over personality.

Options are to support Zardari, Nawaz Sharif, IK, Altaf Hussain, Ch. Shujaat and Asfandyar Wali.

All of these guys have supported military rule, all of these have been accused of corruption and all of these have overall the same attributes.

According to the critics of Gen. Musharraf he has the same attributes also. Let's say he does, this means no difference amongst any of these folks.

To me, in the entire lot, only Gen. Musharraf and Imran Khan have actually done something for Pakistan, SKM Hospital, Gawader, JF-17, Tax, Police and LFO reforms, Nimal College etc.

I support Gen. Musharraf because he has given Pakistan a path which is away from Taliban and extremism and he also made a lolt of Pakistanis believe in Pakistan First.

Pakistanis are no saints, lets not look for saints to lead us either.

Depends on your definition of economic boom. There is ample amount of evidence of the economic boom. Just a few clicks and you will find out. The facts are validated by global institutions like WB, IMF, UN and several other bodies.

The basic precendence is the well being of the people of Pakistan and that was catered to during Gen. Musharraf's tenure as President. From Wateen telecom, Ufone, Telenor and warid to Hum tv, express and so on. Jobs, exports and employment on unprecedented levels were being generated.

thats the thing i am trying to point out... i remember the KSE rocketing to new records and the media industry blooming... but the basic question still remains when it all drained down to an average citizen as me, there wasnt anything left

i dont care about how many shares have been traded today, or whats the rating of my country by Moody's, all i care about is if me and my family are happy in terms of finance and security,

and mushy was unable to do any good to the people who make up around 80% of the whole country's population... the middle class has started to disappear... all the money is circulated among the elite class and rest are suffering

he had power to start building dams to get rid of the electricity shortage but only a half heart-ed effort of building the bhasha dam!!! he had every chance in the world to make pakistan a model country but he blew it!!!!

. .
^^^ so is the present government doing it all for the middle class. His government was 100 times better then the present.
when did i say i support PPP??? well mushy made one blunder after another its hard to sort out how he could've help us progress!!!!

Dude Musharraf was too busy setting the scene for what we are seeing now. Problems don't just spring up over night. They take time to develop. The past decade was thanks to Musharraf. Blaming everything on the last 2 years while exempting the 8 years that preceded it is completely unfair. You and I both know that.

Ridiculous subsidies, massive growth in the import bill (yes my friends, cell phones, computers, cars are ALL imported and they cost us our FX reserves) and our carte blanche participation in the so called 'War on Terror' are all Musharraf's presents. Don't try to put the blame on the present setup.

I am not for PPP, believe me, I hate them. But, I still think that you should hold the correct people responsible. You also need to take into account the global recession. Seriously, this argument is exactly like the one where "musharraf gave us the media". It's amazing how people just simply look at the present and not stuff that happened before and how it has contributed to our present misery. There is a need to be more critical in our country.

There were several reasons as to why emergency was imposed. Had you remembered the Lal freak show and the SC fiasco which led country into complete chaos for months.

I for one supported the imposition of emergency for the purpose of stability. Instead of confrontation between the state pillars, which would have had disasterous impact on the economy (as clearly the case in present day Pakistan) further destablisation was not a plus.

They see cell phones and tv channels and nice roads but fail to realise how he damaged the state. He defaced our constitution beyond repair. We are still trying to fix what he did (forget that even! we are still trying to fix what zia did!)

Oh bhai, the reason I mentioned those organisations was not for the purpose of mobile phones or imports. My post implies the growth that led to several job opputunities and employment as a result of that growth.

Yes, imports and exports grew. You see the glass half empty, I see it half full.

this is wat i can see:

1. acting army and intelligence officers being questioned http://www.defence.pk/forums/nation...issing-person-s-case-takes-dramatic-turn.html

2. government official being sent to jail for his corruption charges http://www.defence.pk/forums/national-political-issues/52477-addl-dg-fia-arrested-sent-jail.html

3. http://www.defence.pk/forums/nation...elps-release-7-000-prisoners-sindh-alone.html

4. NRO verdict

5. Illegal plazas

6. sending jamsheed dasti back home on fake degree charges

7. missing persons case being pursued

now im not saying there is no corruption in judiciary but it will take time before things take the right shape.

Sir jee, the fact is there was a 400% increase in corruption!

Who will send these corrupt charsis to jail? are they above law? or hiding behind the veil of "free" judiciary?

first of all judiciary never said they want to be part of any discussion. if few lawyers were saying it then that doesnt make any difference. secondly nawaz pointing to 'people involved in politics behind closed doors' is by no means a reference to CJ and even if it is then wat is the proof?

The fact is people who were involved in the so called "free" judiciary movement came up with this not me.

oh economy? lolz. your demand lead economy has collapsed if u havent realised. today we are facing this electricity short fall bec no energy project was taken up during musharraf time. you kept the exchange rate at 60 rupee per dollar making rupee to be highly overvalued. massive amount of money was printed by the central bank to keep exchange rate unchanged. and we all know wat happened when this peg was relaxed to make the economy return to it equilibrium. he increased lending for useless items at the cost of our future consumption.

furthermore our todays state of economy has got to do less with ppp government and more with global recession, commodity price shock and poor short term policies of our previous government.

Your answer from the man himself:

So according to you Telenor, Ufone, Wateen, banks, hospitals, mills, ultility stores, construction companies and etc employ the elite of Pakistan?

Please grow up!

No one's perfect. Nevertheless, his contributions for the betterment of Pakistan and it's people are tremendous. Those who come up with baseless accusations against him are of mere made up conspiracy theories.

dude... as i said earlier the rich became more rich n the poor became more poor... as i said earlier the statistics are there, but the ground realities are way different.... thats what i am trying to say... while the 'bigs' were building one plaza ater another, one company after another, a common man was facing price hike in everything, bomb blasts, load shedding, and all other crap like that!!!

^^ You are wrong.. infact the prosperity on ground was much more visible than the statistics on paper and every one became rich.
Every foreign company was investing in Pakistan and for the first time doing bussiness without kickbacks.
Inflation was there because local importers were making huge profits on foreign imports and still demand was not met.
Today, all previous projects are either ruined or canceled or being altered just to change the inaugural plate.
We suppose to have new Islamabad and Gawadar airports by 2009, we expected the road construction work is almost on halt.
There was no load shedding instead thousands of villages were electrified.
Bomb blasts from 2006 was the part and parcel of anti Musharaf campaign.
I hope you know that not a single lawyer and media men rally was targeted by terorrists! where as it all begin with attacks on P.Musharaf.
Today, govt. is silencing the loadshedding protests and demands of Hazara province by using sucide bombers!
Last time i remember govt. respected women more and today govt. is targeting educated women in particular.

Even Musharraf would have avoided telling a lie so blatantly. In Urdu it is called 'Shah sey ziada Shah key wafadar' or in English 'More loyal than the King'.

.
Who are those who burn railway engines and markets just because majority refuse to submit to the Zaradri dictatorship? indian loyals or Zardari loyals?

Please, discuss with facts and not grade 5 poetry.

Can any member help him with percapita income of Pakistan from Musharraf era?

there is no point in me telling more facts as he has termed me a lier but here i would like to quote his own older statement 'chor ki dari main tinka'

Whatever the per capita income was, "every one became rich" is a blatant lie, sign of extreme ignorance and attempt of making mockery of yourself.

Everyone became rich, this is why King's party (PML-Q) was booted out?
Everyone became rich, this is why Musharraf had to run away from Pakistan instead of gathering support from the newly rich Pakistani population?
Everyone became rich, this is why the poverty level reached to 40% during Mushrraf's time?

Inflation was running into two digits and the rise in salary was not even 100%, and people became rich? Were they receiving checks from the heavens signed by Hazrat Musharraf Alaihissalam?

Either you have no knowledge how business and economics work or you're completely blinded by distorted culminated minds of conspiracy theorists. The basic principle being demand and supply. The economy grew rapidly that spur demand.
