Thank God, finally people are relaizing.

The gentleman who made this call sounds like someone from Punjab and I am very happy that finally the people in Punjab are realizing the efforts and sacrifices of President Musharraf.

The mess pakistan is in today is due to mushys stupidity and short sightness and you must be a looney to want him back.......let him stand in elections like everybody else and lets see if he gets voted in.

However much i am a supporter of PML(N) I do believe his handling of most of Pakistans arm issues as well as some of the developement or the continuation of developement is what his true character was i think he didn't come the right way to power however he did hold some good qualities but having said that he caused a lot of damage as well.

The mess is there because of all of our collective previous and on going stupidities.

Moreover, a brick would be better than the leaders we have at the helm today. Musharraf's better than a brick. Come December Musharraf would be eligible for running for office again. If he is to come back, he should be elected.

If you're pissed off at Musharraf because he screwed up, then you have to let it pass, who didn't? Pretty sure a person learns from his mistakes (unconditional support to America, not paving for democracy in time, killing the media when times were tough - all three sins committed by PML-N and PPP too).

He did bring in liberal economic policies, saw the completion of a lot of mega development projects, brought the real estate boom, brought the banking boom, NADRA, Women's Protection Bill, his opposition to the Hasba Bill (vs PPPP's facilitation of the Taliban bill)...

Close ties with China, vs the ongoing tiff between Chinese leaders and Zardari...

Sure there was money being pumped in from America, but that is still happening right? A lot more of it?

I know Musharraf is not a superman, but just compare him to Zardari, whom WE voted for when WE removed Musharraf. So who really is guilty of the stupidities and short sightedness?

Nawaz has come back as a strong leader... Somewhere down the lane, Musharraf can too.

^^
I know he was not angel, but he is 1000 times better then Zardari,
People voted zardri bcoz mushrraf was but!
This is not justified!

.
not many ppl are missing him. he didnt know how to take the nation along with him.

.
I am one who will always remember the General they way i saw him. When we worked at Margala towers he personally came and shook hands with every volunteer "uniformed" and "civillian". When we did duties on his route, he would ensure that Welfare cars would do the rounds and water and feed everyone from the sepoy on the road to the SSP in the inner cordon.

He had his weaknesses, everyman does! But i liked him!

As a pakistani patriot musharaff has put his life on the line in a real sense defending the country during wars against india and i give him full credit for it.
I want musharaff in the dock for lal masid-kargil-coup but its the same for NS and zardari, i want them also to face charges for corruption, nepotism, kargil ect......we either send to court the whole buch or non.
My main point of anger is the way in which musharaff fought the right wing wahabbi gang.......if it had been a politician who was fighting the war i think we would have been in a better postion starting from 9-11,its been to much brawn not enough brain.
We needed the support of the population to really go after the terrorist in NWFP something that musharaff was not able to do,he was correct in his thinking that the military has to be sent in or else the american will cross over into the tribal zone but thats where he made the mistake a politican would not have.
In my opninon the politician would have not sent the army but waited until american attacks had reached a level where the tribals where screaming for the pak army to come in and protect and help them.
Lal masjid is another where a politician would have laid seige to the place and starved them out infront of the media instead of making them into martyrs and letting the whole incident become a catalyst for terrorism......most liberal-western pakistanis would agree with the lal masjid attacks but its not our opinion that needs to be changed or manipulated,we have to look at this through the eyes of the people that have a soft corner for the "paktaliban" and get them on the side of the state.
The operation in swat is a okay example of a half decent plan where the govt has accepted the main points of what the people-taliban wanting sharia, thus getting rid of the main ralling point for the "paktaliban" and giving the wahabi gang enough freedom to break the treaty that they signed and that way we got the population on our side this time.

how selfish!
just because you met him in person and shook hands with him...you like him?:what:
if I were you..I wouldn't be overwhelmed by the presence of a President/CoAS and overlook how during his reign he gradually sabotaged the country/country people and we disdn't even realise and then one day we woke up just to discover that the entire country was dilapidated!!! Yes we had way too many expectations from him ,we trusted this man blindly......and it's not the half of it.It had its after effects...that are reverberating everywhere untill now.O please! now don't start compring him with Zardari and others.Don't tell me he has learned from his mistakes.Look around you..are we in a state to take anymore chances. No!

.
while i dont agree with most of musharraf's policies; he certainly did a lot for this country; the boom in the middle class was during musharraf's rule; and come to think of it; we would still be seeing only ptv if it wasnt for musharraf :D
