Musharraf got more votes

When you buy a guardd dog, its job is to basically guard your property, its job is not to interfere in the running of your property. I think pakistan Army needs to realise that its purpose is to guard the country and not interfere in domestic politics.

Musharrif has the blood of pakistani people on his hands, an the army is responsible for killing its own people the very people it is suppose to defend against agression.

The elections were a joke it is up to the supreme court now but deep down we all know what the outcome of the supreme courts decision will be. IF the court allows musharrif to be the president then we all know that supreme court is the pillar and foundation of corruption and injustice.

Regardless what musharrif has done for the country, am not in denial that he has done alot but that does not justify his dictatorship and various others acts. Under him i belive that pakistan is heading for civil war and breakup. Look at the situation in waziristan and belochistan, people want seperation and freedom from the federal goverment, this clearly shows the lack of belief people have in pakistan as a country.

I do believe that we are all pakistanis but we also hold bond at racial and ragional issues, do you really think that vast ordinary pathan population will support musharrif when he kills their pathan brothers from fata and afghanistan.

Bringing bb in to the situation shows that pakistan is not willing to rid itself of corruption and encourages it but making deals with known criminal such as bb, whom i believe deserves a rope around her neck.

Why will not the good people of pakistan rise to these corrupt leaders and institutions and demand liberal islamic policies and values. End of corruption and prosperity for all and elimination of hunger and poverty.

Frankly I think Pakistan is just about the only nation in the world were you know the result of an election bbefore the election actually happens ... funny ...

Who so ever coined the phrase ' dirty politics ' must have not seen the Pakistani politics, otherwise he would have phrased it as ' dirty, ******,immature, disgusting and characterless politics '.

KHAIRPUR: The PML on Sunday continued celebrating the victory of Gen Pervez Musharraf in the presidential election held on October 6.

In Khairpur, the PML organised a pro-Musharraf rally to celebrate the unofficially announced thumping victory of the president. Sayed Muhib Shah Lakyari, the PML district president, led the rally while the triumphant workers participated in the rally in a large number.

The PML leader said the Supreme Court had “legalised” the presidential poll, adding that the confidence of the majority legislators in the leadership of President Musharraf proved one fact that Musharraf was indispensable for Pakistan and its sovereignty.

He said the PPPP boycotted the poll because they knew Makhdoom Amin Fahim was sure to meet a disastrous defeat while the MMA also realised that they could not defeat Musharraf.

Our correspondence from Thatta adds: Sindh Adviser on Forests Syed Aijaz Ali Shah Shirazi and Thatta District Nazim Syed Shafqat Hussain Shah Shirazi on Sunday congratulated Gen Musharraf on his victory as president.

Reconciliation Ordinance mere political ruse: Shujaat

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz said Sunday that it was the successful strategy on the part of the government that the opposition lay divided; while, Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain remarked that the government and People’s Party both played their games but it was the government on winning side.

Addressing a news conference accompanied with Chaudhry Shujaat, Federal ministers Mohammed Ali Durrani, Sumera Malik, Chaudhry Shahbaz and State Minister Tariq Azeem, Shaukat Aziz said no electoral alliance is going to be forged with PPP, adding there are reservations over National Reconciliation Ordinance in the party and the same is the integral part of a democratic system, indeed.

Prime Minster said that now the president, premier and the army chief will perform their respective constitutional responsibilities.

Aziz said no decision regarding caretaker set-up and caretaker premier has been made so far.

Addressing the media on this occasion, Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain said the ordinance was a political stratagem that met success, adding there was no agreement entered with Maulana Fazlur Rehman.

The decision regarding taking back the no-confidence motion or not will be made on the provincial level, he added.
