Murree: The legendary Pakistani beer that wants to come to India

.
Does the Army Chief still live in the Murre Brewery GM's bungalow? Is Quetta Distillery open still? And their famed Quetta Vodka; still around?

.
Never had Muree so cant comment on it, But i have had Kingfisher it's shyt, I dont know why Indians keep gloating about it, Maybe they haven't tried anything remotely better

American beer is crap as well, Coming from a country where i'm spoilt for choice i'd say best beer are European ones, I quite like Stouts rather than Larger.. My fav's

Kilkenny - Irish
Stella Artois - Belgian
Guinness imperial stout - Irish
Heineken - Dutch

I'm curious, does anyone here like Foster? I'm yet to meet someone who likes it.

It's a shyt beer mate.. I dunno why people associate Fosters with Australia, No self respecting Aussie will ever touch that, Only Americans do but then again the yanks are used to drinking poor piss

Best rated beer coming out of South Asia is Lion Stout, Ranked high in Rate beer and top 20 stout in the world, Not on Buzzfeed thank goodness

Its somewhat passeable if you have it by itself, as cold as possible.

If you have had other beers previous lingering on palate, it tastes pretty gross....like used mouthwash. Like a poor mans corona (and I hate corona).

Better to spend yer quid on old monk rum if you want Indian booze....probably one of the better rums I've had...beats bacardi, one the level of appleton estate roughly for half the price.

I'll keep an eye out for the lion stout. Is it similar to guinness in level of grain roast or is it lighter?

Mate.. Old Monk is one of the best things to come out of India to be honest, I was shocked to hear they stopped making it few years ago, But pleased to know someone had actually bough the company over and continuing it.. Brilliant

I make it a point to get one anytime whoever returns from India.. Bloody hard to get it outside

You might find it as Singha in Canada.. The light version 8% , Lion is 8.8%, Packs quite a punch but is smooth

Really? Easy to get it here in the UAE! And Yes Agree European Beers are really good Still like the Indian Kingfisher ! :enjoy:

. .
Which all pubs have you been to in Bangalore?

It was early 2000's mate.. Used to travel there quite a bit.. I remember Brigade rd well.. Lots of pubs with college kids

On the top of my head, Nasa, A place called the Underground.. Few others.. There was a club called Inferno a bit outside the CBD.. Not sure if those exist now

As of now, there are lots of problems for Pakistanis to start business in India and vice a versa. I say no chance for Murree in India as of now.

It actually pops up with some frequency at the govt booze store here in Canada. It was here that I had it first and it made me chuffed that India can actually make booze worth recommending to someone.

Not in Australia or South East Asia though.. Not even in Indian grocers :(.. I have a experienced beer palate for obvious reasons :-).. So i find Kingfisher pretty poor

Really ? That's pretty awesome.. So i reckon they are still producing it after the scare ?

The Underground is closed I guess, and rest are probably not popular anymore. I have moved to Bangalore recently, and I am still exploring the city. Brigade road is a good place to hangout, but I find better pubs in 100ft Road, and Churchstreet area. Pubs there are good and they don't burn the pocket (Toit, Social, Vapor, Chilli's etc )
Anyways how are Pubs in Sri Lanka? Can You recommend few if I plan to visit Colombo?
