Over the last few months, Pakistan has continued a series unprovoked incidents of firing
SRINAGAR: Wednesday was supposed to be a special day for Border Security Force (BSF) head constable Radha Pad Hazra – his 51st birthday.

But as he walked towards his post at Dulma Chak in Jammu and Kashmir's Samba sector, little did he know this would be the last day of his life.

At about 4:35 pm, Pakistan began unprovoked firing towards Dulma Chak manned by BSF's 173 Battalion.

Responding to the indiscriminate firing, BSF troopers retaliated and opened fire.

As the firing continued from both sides, Hazra got shot. He was immediately shifted to DH Samba hospital, but doctors declared him brought dead.

Hazra, who belonged to Murshidabad in West Bengal, had been in the BSF for 27 years. He is survived by a daughter and a son.

Over the last few months, Pakistan has continued series of unprovoked firings.

On December 23, four soldiers, including a major, were killed in a ceasefire violation by the Pakistan Army on the LoC in J&K's Rajouri district.

Poor Guy, Feel sorry for him ... but we lost our soldiers too

In border skirmishes like these, let's not lift fingers and say "Pakistan did this" or "India did that" as the skirmishes are almost always due to mistakes and unwarranted firings. The fact that there is almost complete certainty that the higher-ups did not order this provocation tells us that we should not simply say that a country did something, but rather, he was shot by a border security guard from across the border. No need for any sweeping generalisation, as it is counterproductive and often destructive towards an everlasting peace between the two countries.

wait for another surgical strike claim by Indian media and a lot of chest thumping.
both forces are deployed in a 70 years long disputed area

RIP in peace to the soldier but then again Indians dont spare the Kashmiri civilians either. they snipe on villagers who come out of their homes, fire tracers on their crops, kill their life stock and fire at the public transport and funerals all as an excuse of alleged infiltration.

Well.. DNRIP..

Abb kia 51st birthday bhi manani thi..

. . .
In 2016 dec they even shelled a school van carrying kids and poor kids got injured.

Who cares how many bsf killed or not , from our side even if entire force gets wiped out in a day we wont care cause if they will stay alive they will target our kids , buses , civilians

.
As per reports a Pakistan Army SSG commando Havildar Yasin of 6 commando battalion died due to Indian firing on LoC on 26th December.

Very sad incident. India Pakistan should exchange birthday date of soldiers deployed on border so that nobody die on his birthday.
