An Indian millionaire has been charged with murder after he deliberately rammed his car into his security guard.

Mohammed Nisham allegedly drove his Hummer into his guard Chandrabose, pinning him against the wall, before attacking him with a metal rod.

Chandrabose, aged 50, suffered multiple injuries and despite repeated surgery, died in hospital on Monday.

Mr Nisham, 39, supposedly attacked him because Chandrabose was slow opening the gate to his apartment in Kerala.

Chandrabose died of cardiac arrest after spending two weeks on life support.

Police had already charged Mr Nisham with attempted murder following the attack in Thrissur city.

Mr Nisham faces a second court case over an incident in 2013 when he permitted his then nine-year-old son to drive his Ferrari.

Indian media say Mr Nisham has had other brushes with the law.

Also in 2013, they report that he locked a female police officer in his Rolls Royce after she asked him to pull over.

It is believed that Mr Nisham has a taste for luxury cars, additionally owning a Bentley, an Aston Martin and a Jaguar.

The millionaire is believed to have made his fortune selling tobacco and through jewellery and hotel businesses in the Middle East.

He didn’t stop there, pinning the man against a wall with his SUV, he then emerged from the car and repeatedly hit the guard with an iron rod, until others intervened. Later, he drove the bleeding guard a kilometer away, dragged him out and beat him up again in a cruel manner.

The guard, Chandrabose, was critically injured and was hooked on life support in the local hospital.

Apparently, this is not the first time Nisham has had a run in with the law and there are at least seven cases pending against him in the state. In April 2013, he had allowed his minor son to drive his Ferrari in their residential complex in Thrissur.

The police registered a case against him after a video was uploaded on YouTube and generated outrage. In the same year, he locked a woman sub-inspector inside his Rolls Royce when he was asked to stop for a routine check.
