7.7 magnitude earthquake affected 10 provinces
There were around 100 aftershocks, the largest of which was 6.6 magnitude.
1121 lives lost
7634 injured
2834 buildings collapsed or were severely damaged.
In Syria, the situation is a bit more uncertain.
The devastatingly affected areas in Syria are mostly Idlib and the north of Aleppo.
To make a comparison, we are talking about an earthquake 5-6 times stronger than the 1999 Gölcük earthquake, which affected the entire tectonic structure in the region.
The biggest earthquake of the last century was the 7.9 Erzincan earthquake. Today's 2 earthquakes are too big to be compared to the 99 earthquake.

10 hours apart, two of the biggest earthquakes of the last century occurred. It was not only the Richter power that made the earthquake devastating, but also its acceleration, which was unprecedented in our geography. It's becoming one of the worst earthquakes in modern Turkish history
