Mullah Manan, Taliban's governor of Helmand & Mullah Omer's brother was killed in Marjah district

The Taliban shadow governor for southern Helmand province has been killed in airstrike in the restive Marjah district, local security officials said.

The airstrike was carried out late on Sunday night targeting the Mullah Manan and his fighters in the vicinity of Marjah district.

Provincial security chief Gen. Agha Noor Kentoz said Muallah Manan was initially injured in the attack and later died of his wounds.

He said the airstrike was carried out as part of Khanjar operations which were launched six days ago in Marjah to suppress the insurgency activities of the Taliban militants.

The Taliban militants group has not commented regarding the report so far.

This comes as at least 8 militants were killed during an attack on the Taliban prison in Marjah district earlier.

The Ministry of Defense said 7 militants were also arrested an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) manufacturing factory was destroyed along with a vehicle and two motorcycles belonging to the militants.

At least 19 hostages were also released from the prison belonging to the Taliban militants during the raid, MoD added.

Still looking at the bigger picture both AF and Pak are being used like tools, we blame each other we kill each other and others laugh at our misery! I have seen how Afghans and Pakistanis are treated when they show their passports outside of their countries and here we are showing false bravado and being proud of so called Ghairat, History etc We are nothing but a laughing stock of the outside world if we are honest for one moment

When will we learn to let live and prosper with each other ?

Makes you think!

As long as people on both side of border exist who thinks everything is fair in love and war to execute national interests which are defined by themselves

It has started to sound like the Climax scene of Godfather.

Where Michele Corleone in one swift blow, took out the heads of other four crime families and Moe Greene.

Been to Malaysia , Indonesia , Srilanka , Thailand , UAE , Singapore . Whenever I told someone i was from Pakistan I was treated with great respect especially in Indonesia and Malaysia . Pakistan is held in high esteem as a big power especially in islamic world and in countries like Turkey , Malaysia and Palestine.

You are not a big sample to test your argument :)

- UAE treats Afghans and Pak as second class citizen
- Sri Lanka stopped giving visa's upon arrival to pakistani passport holders.
- Malaysia and Indonesia I have no idea probably you were treated well because of your looks :)

Mind you Afghan and Pakistani passports 1st and 2nd worst in the world.

Good riddance. Congratulations to Afghan people.

Visa on arrival or passport power is not the barometer of a countries success:D . Countries like Namibia , Bosnia Swaziland have more visa on arrival than Economic super power like China:) . Mind you China's Passport will give you on arrival for just 50 countries which is pretty low . Even India's Passport has more on arrival than China but that doesn't mean they are ahead of China does it ? . A country like Maldives has on arrival for UK but Turkey doesn't .

Even Yemen , Syria , Libya , Somalia have more visa on arrival than Pakistan:lol: . So are you going to tell that these Countries are ahead of Pakistan ? .

As for UAE , Pakistanis are the 3rd biggest property investors there after Indians And British .

Passport and visa on arrival depends upon diplomacy with other countries.

No one can defeat the Taliban in Afghanistan. Just because you take out one measly old man doesn't mean your having an effect on their capabilities. What has more than a decade of a US lead coalition in Afghanistan solved? Jack shit NOTHING, a big zero. They control more territory's than they previously did. The Afghan army certainly won't be able to defeat them. It's virtually impossible to check every mountain and discover every hideout. The Americans tried and looked what happened, millions of dollars down the drain and a complete waste of tax payers money which could have gone to their crumbling infrastructure. Pitiful really. Better to proceed on with peace talks.

Mullah Omar never to rarely traveled in the last decade. He was heavily guarded by the ISI who also ensured he received regular treatment in military facilities for his kidney condition
