Mujib's Search for the Fact about the Killing of Pakistan Army

Shaheed?? Of what!!! He was not shaheed, he was as big a traitor as Mujib. I m sorry if I have offended your god.

I agree with you. Bhutto was a bigger traitor. He should have handed over the power to Mujib. Thats true. But we see Bhutto's feudal and petty mindset in everyday politics in Pakistan. In Pakistan, the country takes the back seat when it comes to small personal and political gains.

@ Mujib was the diciples of Shahed Sharwardy. Once Pakistan came into being Sharwardy remained in Calcutta till upto the death of Jinnah. At that time Pakistan intelligence thought that he was the real traitor of Pakistan. Once in 1948 after death of Jinnah Sharwardy landed at Karachi airport, then and there he was arrested. Soon, he organised the the first opposition political party in Pakistan known as " Awami Muslim Leaque. And finally he became the Prime Minister of Pakistan. Once he became PM , during his time Pakistan signed the Defence Pact with USA. Pakistan also signed in CENTO and SEATO. So, I was telling that similarly Mujib should have given power in 1971 as per people's mandate. But intsead Butto and its Civil and military associates started making conspiracy without realizing its ultimate impact.

Can any body tell me whether these massacres and rapes of bengalis were carried out on orders of higher ups or simply soldiers got carried away?

@ Rapes were carried out or not there are little prove but Bengali massacres were carried out through out Bangladesh whenever they entered in the initial operation. The scale may not be like 3 millions ? But they carried out. This may be in revenge of Biharee and West Pakistani killings. I give you one incident of Rangpur Cantonment. It was probably 29/30 March 1971. The whole of Rangpur Garrison was encirled by the Local Bengales with lethal weapons. One day Awami Leaque planned to entered the Cantonment premises. Thousands of people chanting slogan, "Joy Bangla" started coming inside Cantonment from all sides. The local Brigade Commander collected all the Bengali soldiers including officers who were still with Pakistan Army brought in front of Brigrade HQ. Mean while the Punjabi and other soldiers were deployed with LMG and Machine Gun. The microphone of the loud speaker were given to the Bengali officers for early warning and accordingly they obeyed the order. But the jubilent crouds did not pay any hid to it. Finally the Pakistani Commander order for fire to the Bengali officer but they did not fire. At last the Pakistani soldiers opened fire indiscrimately on the crouds and it was estimated around 400/500 common people died on the spot. All these things were done in front of the Bengali soldiers and officers and they were standing like a statue. At the evening all these dead bodies were collected and burned with the patrol and all these things were done by the Bengali soldiers. See, the behavior of all this so called disciplined Pakistani Army Officer. They were just making fun with the Bengalise and testing their intregity of Bengali soldiers.---------- Most of the Bengali soldiers of Rangpur Cantonment were killed in a systematic manner. About the Bengali officers most of them were arrested and slowly killed while sending them on the way back to West Pakistan means on the way to Lalmonirhat Airport at Tishta River. Very few Bengali Officer could survive. One of such officer was General Amjad (at that time Maj Amjad). He was a Brigade Maj of Rangpur Brigrade till July 1971. Presently he is the Chairman of Pran Group of Industry. There are few other officers who survived from Rangpur Cantonment.

@ In those days it was a matter of pride for the Pakistani officers to kill the Bengalis specially the Hindus. They used to always whisper, " Tup ne kitne logo ko mara hai". This system continued till June 1971.
