I guess your next biopic about him would be 50 shades of Mujib?
You too a nice day
Mujib was a complex fellow like all politicians.
He was a fervent Pakistani and a firm believer in the two nation theory.
If East Bengal didn’t have unity amongst its leaders for two nations - British would not have agreed to East Bengal joining Pakistan. We would have been fobbed off like Kashmiris.
Difference between Kashmir and East Bengal - was the political leadership.
THERE WAS NO WAY EAST BENGALIS WERE GOING TO JOIN INDIA.
Our grandparents would have literally done anything! British and Nehru understood that.
And Pakistani military never understood it.
East Bengali Muslims are fiercely independent.
Back to Mujib…
He came to hate Pakistan when the Pakistani military backstabbed him. And he finally accepted that Bengalis would never be equal citizens.
Which led him to declare struggle for independence.
But like all independence leaders - he proved to be a terrible administrator. Whilst he was not personally corrupt - he turned a blind eye to the thuggery and corruption by his close associates.
Furthermore, he ushered in socialism, at the behest of idiots like Taj Uddin, which destroyed the economy.
In summary, Mujib was an inspirational leader who united Bengalis against the Pakistani junta and declared the struggle for independence. But he was a terrible administrator and turned a blind eye to thuggery and corruption.
