This must be the L&T/ Samsung K9 Thunder MKI

Sounds Legit!

Nice catch their. :)

I stand corrected, not the Bhim. But I don't think its MSTA-S either, as it has a much higher turret and its gun is different to this one.

Looks exactly like the South Korean K9 Thunder infact.

Damn thats true! Its definitely not a MSTA-S

Most probably K-9 was here for trials. Lets hope L&T gets this deal. This will be a great force multiplier for Army.

@Koovie I am not convinced the IA has the MSTA-S, other than 1 report from RIA we have no solid proof that the IA has such a system. Talking specifically about these pictures, it is a civilian truck which pretty much rules out IA, so there are any number of things that could be going on- 1) some private collector has bought this from abroad and is now shipping it to wherever in India, this happens a lot in the West and specifically here in the UK so I can't say it wouldn't happen in India 2) it is a decommissioned ex IA SPG maybe a 2S1 maybe a FV433 or somthing much older that is being shipped to a museum or IA base (military installations love to have such historical items at their bases) 3) this is a foreign SPG/H in India for trails as we know the IA has an ongoing tracked SPG/H tender 4) this was a SPG displayed at some defence expo or the like and is now heading home- wherever that may be.

On topic, I doubt its in service, otherwise it wouldn't be transported on civilian trucks.

That's not correct sir. If you ever come across Pune-Banglore highway you will see T-90s , Arjun bridge carriers and New TATA trucks being carried on civilian carriers. Although 4/6 uniform guies are alway onboard

I think in peace time army go for low cost logistic services from civilian transport bodies
